How to Complete the Apollo's Song of Light Bestiary in Fisch

Apollo's Song of Light is the second layer inside the Wrath of Olympus in Fisch, and it holds 12 fish you need to catch for a full Bestiary clear. Most of them can be reeled in through normal fishing, but a handful are locked behind the Solar Chorus event — a cooperative mechanic that demands coordination and patience. Here's everything you need to finish the job and unlock the path to layer three.

Quick answer: Eight of the 12 fish are catchable at any time within Apollo's Song of Light. The remaining four — Radiant Guppy, Imprian, Sun Whale, and Helios Sunray — only appear during or after the Solar Chorus event, which requires catching 25 legendary fish inside the light beams while all mirrors face the seal.

How to Reach Apollo's Song of Light

You cannot enter this layer until you have fully completed Bellona's Frenzy of War. That means finishing the entire layer-one Bestiary, completing the Misplaced Sword + Shard Fragment quest, and surviving Bellona's attack for roughly one minute without losing HP. Once those conditions are met, a cutscene plays showing Bellona's Seal breaking open. A passageway appears in the center of the area — jump through it to land in Apollo's Song of Light.

Light Beams and Why They Matter

Several beams of light fall onto the water throughout Apollo's Song of Light. Fishing inside these beams is not just cosmetic — standing in them prevents any negative effects on your lure speed and luck. For regular fish, this is a nice bonus. For triggering the Solar Chorus event, it is mandatory. All event-related catches and the 25-legendary-fish threshold must happen within these beams.

Solar Chorus Event — Trigger Conditions

The Solar Chorus is a semi-random cooperative event. Its spawn chance increases the more players are actively fishing in the area, so bringing friends or joining a populated server helps significantly. Two conditions must be true before the event can begin:

  • All mirrors must face the seal. Interactable mirrors are scattered around the map. Approach each one and rotate it so it points downward toward the central hole on the ground. You'll know the alignment is correct when all the mirrors light up and beams start projecting downward.
  • 25 legendary fish must be caught inside the light beams during the event window. This is a collective count — every player fishing in the beams contributes.

Once the Solar Core spawns in, the stone tablets around the area will illuminate. That's your visual confirmation that the event is active. Keep fishing inside the beams, and a Helios Sunray hunt will emerge from the spot where you're casting. The Helios Sunray functions as a boss encounter with a mini-game mechanic you need to clear to progress.

⚠️
The Solar Chorus event is random even with optimal conditions. Having more players fishing in the light beams raises the probability, but there is no guaranteed timer or threshold beyond the 25-legendary requirement and mirror alignment.

All 12 Fish in Apollo's Song of Light

The Bestiary splits neatly into fish you can catch freely and fish gated behind the Solar Chorus. Specific bait preferences, weather windows, seasons, and time-of-day requirements apply to individual species. The named fish confirmed for this Bestiary include Beamtail Koi, Auric Angelfish, Radiant Guppy, Imprian, Sun Whale, and Helios Sunray, among others.

Note: The Helios Sunray is the boss-style encounter. Defeating it involves an interactive mini-game sequence. Completing that fight counts toward your Bestiary and also unlocks further progression.

Best Rods for the Apollo's Song of Light Bestiary

The recommended rods for this layer are the Eardrum, Duskwire, and any music or instrument-based rods. These rods align well with the thematic bonuses in Apollo's Song of Light and provide the best catch rates across the 12 species. If you already have one of these from earlier content, equip it before heading in.

Mirror Puzzle — Stepwise

Step 1: Locate the interactable mirrors placed around Apollo's Song of Light. They are spread across the map near the edges of the fishing area.

Step 2: Approach each mirror and rotate it so that it points downward toward the central hole or seal on the ground. Every mirror should face the same target.

Step 3: Once all mirrors are correctly aligned, beams of light will project downward from each one. This is the visual confirmation that the puzzle is solved. The mirrors must stay aligned for the Solar Chorus event to trigger.

💡
As of the Wrath of Olympus launch, the mirror light beams may lack full visual effects. If the beams appear faint or missing, the puzzle can still be complete — check the tablet illumination as your backup confirmation.

Instruments and Additional Puzzles

Musical instruments are scattered around the Apollo's Song of Light map. These need to be interacted with in a specific order to complete a separate puzzle that contributes to overall layer progression. The instrument sequence is independent of the Bestiary fish count, but is required if you want to fully clear the layer and move on to the third.

Apollo Sunshot Rod

Completing the Apollo's Song of Light Bestiary at 100% is tied to unlocking the Apollo Sunshot rod. The exact spawn conditions for the rod are still being pinned down by the community, but it appears in the layer after full Bestiary completion. If the rod does not appear immediately, ensure that both the mirror puzzle and instrument sequence are also finished, as these may be additional prerequisites.

Once you have all 12 fish logged, the mirrors aligned, the instruments played in order, and the Helios Sunray defeated, the path to the third layer of the Wrath of Olympus opens up. The transition works the same way as the Bellona's Seal break — look for the new passageway and jump through to continue your descent.
