Windows 11 has multi-touch gestures to provide quick access to various menus and perform certain actions which prove to be really handy for the user and definitely enhance the overall user experience.

However, many a time, you can activate them by mistake and in turn completely ruin your flow of work. Thankfully, you do not have to live with the constant annoyance and turn them off quickly from the Settings app on your Windows 11 computer.

Disabling Three-Finger Gestures from Settings app

If your touchpad keeps on detecting your palm as a three-finger gesture and brings up the task view again and again, or switch apps for that matter. You can get rid of the problem by simply disabling the three-finger gestures from settings.

To do so, head to the Settings app from the pinned apps or by searching for it from the Start Menu.

Then, click on the ‘Bluetooth & devices’ tab present on the left sidebar of the Settings window.

Next, from the right section, locate the ‘Touchpad’ tile from the list and click on it to proceed.

After that, locate the ‘Three-finger gestures’ tile and click on it to expand the section. Then, click on the drop-down menu present right beside the ‘Swipes’ option.

Next, click to choose the ‘Nothing’ option from the context menu.

And that’s it, you have now disabled the three-finger gestures on your Windows 11 computer.


Reset or Disable All Touchpad Gestures

In case disabling only a three-finger gesture doesn’t cut it for you, you can also disable all of the gestures available for your touchpad.

To disable every single tap gesture, from the Touchpad settings screen, locate and click on the ‘Taps’ tile to expand the section. Then, click on the checkbox preceding each gesture to uncheck and disable them.

To disable scroll & zoom gestures, from the Touchpad settings screen, click on the ‘Scroll & zoom’ tile to expand the section. Then, click to uncheck the checkbox preceding the ‘Drag two fingers to scroll’ option to disable the scroll gesture, and similarly, click to uncheck the checkbox preceding the ‘Pinch to zoom’ option to disable the zoom gesture on your computer.

To reset touchpad gestures, from the Touchpad settings screen, click on the ‘Touchpad’ til to expand it. Next, click on the ‘Reset’ button to reset all the touchpad gestures to default.
