Argo’s Merit Chest: Unique is the top tier of the reward chests tied to Argo, the Spirit King, the field boss in Chaotic Lower Reshanta. It is a Unique-grade, bound consumable. You can’t buy it, trade for it, or loot it directly. You make it yourself through Substance Morph, and it always pays out a block of Abyss Points. It also has a small chance at a piece of Argo gear.
Quick answer: Use Substance Morph to turn 5 Proof of Hero (Argo) (Bound) into one chest. You can make up to 7 per character per week.

Argo’s Merit Chest: Unique recipe (Substance Morph)
Substance Morph is the only way to get this chest. The recipe has one ingredient, and each craft makes one chest. The weekly cap is per character, not per account. Each character on your roster has its own count of seven.
| Recipe detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Method | Substance Morph |
| Ingredient | Proof of Hero (Argo) (Bound) x5 |
| Output | 1 chest |
| Limit | 7 per character per week |
After the morph completes, Argo’s Merit Chest: Unique (Bound) appears in your inventory. You can stack as many as 999, letting you keep a week’s supply and open them together. The chest’s description limits it to players who played a remarkable role in defeating the Spirit King, Argo, on Archipelago of Siel’s Wings. Proof tokens are the game’s way of recording that role.

Every chest pays out 4,500 Abyss Points. Everything else depends on separate rolls. Half the time you also get a stack of Silver Medal of Merit. A small extra roll can add more medals. A 1 percent roll can drop one piece of Argo equipment.

| Reward | Qty | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| 4,500 | Always | |
| Silver Medal of Merit | 3 | 50% |
| Silver Medal of Merit | 1 | 2.5% |
| Silver Medal of Merit | 2 | 1.5% |
| Silver Medal of Merit | 3 | 1% |
The last three medal rows come from one 5 percent roll. If that roll hits, you get exactly one of those three results. Silver Medal of Merit is an Armorsmithing material. These chests are a steady weekly supply of it on top of the Abyss Points.
Argo equipment drop chances
The gear pool is one 1 percent roll covering ten Argo items. If it hits, you get one of them. The ring has a slightly higher chance than the rest.
| Item | Chance per chest |
|---|---|
| 0.15% | |
| 0.11% | |
| 0.11% | |
| 0.11% | |
| 0.09% | |
| 0.09% | |
| 0.09% |
Argo Pauldrons, Argo Greaves, and Argo Breastplate make up the rest of that 1 percent roll. In practice, even at the full seven chests a week, you should think of the gear as a bonus. The Abyss Points are the reliable part of the payout.
Argo armor stats from the chest
The Argo armor pieces are Unique-grade, item level 70 gear that you can equip from level 45. Each has four manastone slots and can be enchanted up to +15. Unlike the chest, they can be traded until they become soulbound.
| Piece | Slot | Defense | HP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top | 517 | 280 | |
| Legs | 431 | 210 | |
| Helm | 388 | 175 | |
| Pauldrons | 388 | 175 |
Each of these four has the fifth-highest Defense value in its slot. The highest values in those slots belong to the Splendent Ebony Dragon Lord and Splendent Wise Dragon Lord pieces. All four use the same enchant scaling. At +15, each one gains 304 Defense and 247 HP.

Trade, storage, and binding rules
The chest is locked to the character who crafted it. That matters if you’re making them on several characters and hoping to pool them on one.
- Bound on creation, with no public or personal trading
- Can go in character storage but not server storage
- Cannot be sold to a vendor
- Required level 1, usable by both Elyos and Asmodians and every class
- Stacks to 999
Argo, the Spirit King location
The boss behind the chest is Argo, the Spirit King. It is a level 65 hero-rank Natura that spawns at a single point on Siel’s Right Wing, in the Archipelago of Siel’s Wings in Chaotic Lower Reshanta. It isn’t aggressive, so it won’t attack you until you attack it. Kill it directly and it can also drop Argo armor and accessories. Those pieces drop much more often from the boss than from the chest, between 10.3 and 12.9 percent for most of them.

Argo’s Merit Chest: Unique has lower-tier versions with smaller payouts. The basic Argo’s Merit Chest gives 1,000 Abyss Points and one Silver Medal of Merit. The Epic version gives 2,700 Abyss Points and a Platinum Medal of Merit. If your goal is Abyss Points from Argo, the Unique chest at 4,500 per open, up to seven times a week, gives you the most.
