Gold Sprites are the rarest companions floating around the island in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. They are not new creatures with their own rules. Each one is a shinier, much rarer version of a standard Sprite, and the draw is simple. On top of the normal effect, a Gold Sprite hands you bonus XP every time you eliminate an opponent.
Quick answer: The easiest way to collect Gold Sprites right now is the Golden Hour event on Saturday, June 13, 2026, when Gold variants spawn far more often. Outside that window, trade with other players through the community megathread, since wild drop rates run as low as 1 in 11,067.

What Gold Sprites do in Fortnite
A Gold Sprite keeps the full base effect of its standard version and adds bonus XP from eliminations on top. A Gold Demon Sprite, for example, still siphons health and shields when you knock someone out, and it now feeds you extra XP for the same kill.
The XP stacks well with a Victory Royale Crown. With a Crown active, you can earn upwards of 1,600 XP per elimination. A handful of kills in one match can push you into the 5,000 to 10,000 XP range, which is a real shortcut through the Runners Battle Pass.

There are 10 Gold Sprites in total. The Burnt Peanut is the only Sprite that has no Gold or special variant. Drop rates at the start of the season are brutal, ranging from 0.12% for the most common types down to 0.009% for the Gold Zero Point Sprite. Epic may raise these odds as the season runs on.

Where to find each Gold Sprite
Gold Sprites do not sit at fixed landmarks. Instead, the game ties each one to a biome, a time of day, or a specific chest type. The percentage is your chance of one showing up while you are in the right place, so the smartest move is to route your drops around the variant you are missing.
| Gold Sprite | Best place to look |
|---|---|
| Gold Water Sprite | Rivers, lakes, and coastal beach areas |
| Gold Earth Sprite | Dense forests and heavily wooded regions |
| Gold Fire Sprite | Cities, towns, and busy urban POIs |
| Gold Duck Sprite | Near the vaults at Sinister Strip and Frosted Flats |
| Gold Ghost Sprite | Anywhere on the map, but only during the nighttime cycle |
| Gold Demon Sprite | Inside Sprite Chests and blue Rare Chests |
| Gold King Sprite | Sprite Chests, Rare Chests, or dropped by defeated AI bots |
| Gold Punk Sprite | High-tier Vault Sprite Chests (keycard required) |
| Gold Dream Sprite | Vault Sprite Chests or sleeping in storage crates |
| Gold Zero Point Sprite | High-tier Vault Sprite Chests only |
When a Gold Sprite does appear, secure it before you leave the match. Use a Portable Extractor or head to a nearby Extraction Site so the companion is added to your permanent collection. Without an extraction, the find does not stick.
Golden Hour event makes Gold Sprites easier to find
Because wild drops are so rare, Epic is running a Power Hour-style event called Golden Hour. The first window runs Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 3:30 PM ET for exactly 60 minutes. If you miss it, a second run happens the same day at 9:30 PM ET.
During Golden Hour, Gold Sprite variants spawn far more often, giving you a real shot at the type you have been chasing. The event also changes a few gameplay rules for that hour.
- Gold Sprite variants are more common across the map.
- You drop in carrying the Chaos Exploder Rifle.
- Every Sprite extraction restores Health and Shield and triggers a Slap effect.
- Each Sprite you extract gives a stacking buff that levels your Sprites faster for the rest of that match.

Trade for the rarest Gold Sprites
Grinding chests for the Gold Zero Point Sprite at 1 in 11,067 is not a realistic plan. The faster path is the community trading system, where players swap duplicates to complete their sets. The r/FortNiteBR collection trading megathread is the safest place to line up a partner with a legitimate copy of what you need.
Throwing Sprites was disabled after a duplication glitch, so trades now work a little differently. Equip the companion, open your inventory, and drop it onto the ground for your partner to pick up. Dropping a Sprite during a match does not erase it from your collection. It only leaves your current session, and you can buy your original copy back from the main menu using Sprite Dust.
To trade without getting third-partied mid-swap, set up a private bot lobby. That lets both players exchange companions and reach an extraction terminal safely instead of risking a stray shot in a public match.
If you are hunting the full set, prioritize the three biome-based variants first. Water, Earth, and Fire each sit at 0.12%, the most generous odds in the pool, and you can farm them while looting normally. Save the trading economy and Golden Hour for the Vault-locked rarities like Punk, Dream, and Zero Point.
