In Star Wars: Droid Tycoon, FOAD and Blzn Studios’ Fortnite Creative mode, Kyber Droids are the main collectibles. You build each one as a dormant unit from a Kyber blueprint, then activate it at Professor Huyang’s workbench to give it a random color. Completing the color sets earns the corresponding lightsabers and workshop paints.
Quick answer: Build a Kyber blueprint at a crafting station, equip the dormant droid as a companion, then take it to Professor Huyang and pay 1 Kyber Crystal (Common) or 2 Kyber Crystals (Rare) to awaken it into a random color.
Start with Professor Huyang’s starter crate
Your first task is to visit Professor Huyang, the Jedi archival droid in the basement tunnel below your workshop. Go downstairs and speak with him to start the introduction. He sends a starter crate into your workshop with a Kyber Droid blueprint and a Kyber Crystal inside—enough to build and activate your first unit.
Where Kyber Droid blueprints come from
After the starter crate, you supply your own blueprints. All four routes feed the same crafting station, so you can mix them freely depending on how many Credits or V-Bucks you want to spend.
- You can purchase Kyber blueprints with Credits when they show up on the conveyor belt.
- Spend V-Bucks to trigger a Kyber Surge, which sends several Kyber blueprints onto the belt at once.
- With an upgrade chip, you can turn a standard droid you already own into a Kyber version.
- Put three Stellar-tier droids together at the fusion table; there’s a chance the result will be a Kyber unit.
Blueprint prices on the belt rise with rarity: Common ones are inexpensive, but a Rare R9 costs millions of Credits. The prices listed here are examples from the belt.

A Kyber Surge can send several blueprints along the belt during one activation, including Gonk, R8, BDX Explorer, ID10, and B1 Security. It’s the quickest way to prepare multiple crafts in a row.
Farm Kyber blueprints at the DJ-R3X Dance Party
The DJ-R3X Dance Party mini-event is now the strongest way to stock up on high-tier blueprints. It runs every Tuesday in a morning window and an evening window. During the event, a track wheel spins roughly every 10 to 15 minutes and can land on Stellar, Galactic, Beskar, or Kyber. A recent buff added the Kyber track, which dispenses Kyber blueprints, including Mythic Kyber, directly onto the conveyor belt.
Payout length scales with how many players share the lobby. A solo player gets blueprints for roughly 10 to 15 seconds, while a full six-player lobby stretches the dispensing time and sharply raises the chance of Mythic Kyber blueprints appearing.
The event fires at set times worldwide. Use these windows to know when to jump into a public session.

Craft the dormant droid
Get Kyber Crystals for activation
Activating a droid requires Kyber Crystals or V-Bucks. Since the starter crate supplies just one crystal, use World Missions and Cantina trades to maintain your supply.
- Finish a World Mission, for example, “Mine Rocks.” Its reward crate may contain as many as 10 Kyber Crystals.
- Exchange certain crafted droids for Kyber Crystals by trading with NPCs in the Cantina Shop.
Awaken the droid at Huyang’s workbench

Activation assigns a random color, so there’s no way to choose Green, Blue, or Purple yourself. You’ll likely need to awaken many droids to complete all three trackers.
Unlock the Kyber lightsabers and workshop paints
Displays on the walls of Huyang’s chamber show an awakening tally for each color. Awaken a droid to advance the corresponding tracker; for instance, Green can go from 1/20 to 2/20. Unlocking a lightsaber takes 20 unique Kyber droids matching that color, and repeated copies of one model are ignored. Awaken 20 distinct droid types each in Green, Blue, and Purple to claim all three lightsabers shown on the display wall.
The Galactic Workshop paint menu also includes three Kyber base paints, in addition to the lightsabers. Paint progress is based on total awakened droids of each color, rather than the number of different models.

Since each activation gives a random color, keep a consistent farming routine for the quickest progress. Collect blueprints from the belt or the DJ-R3X Kyber track, replenish crystals through World Missions and Cantina trades, then awaken droids in batches. Every activation adds to the trackers and paint counters; when a color has 20 unique droids, its lightsaber appears on the wall.
