Black Summer Set: the easiest one to unlock
The Black Summer Set costs just two Cascadier Uniform Vouchers and is bought from Aelina in Mor Dhona (22.7, 6.7). Many players already have spare vouchers sitting in storage, so before doing anything else, run the /itemsearch command to check your inventory.
You will know it worked when the swimsuit appears in your Armoury Chest and can be equipped or applied as a glamour. The umbrella and shoes shown in previews are separate items and are not included with the set.
Shisui set: farm it from an optional dungeon
The Shisui of the Violet Tides dungeon from the Stormblood expansion drops a full swimwear set. Each gear role has its own version, so Fending, Healing, Casting, and the rest all reward different designs and color pairings. Since it is an optional dungeon, you have to go out of your way to unlock it first.
Note: You will not always get the exact piece you want on a single run, so be prepared to repeat the dungeon or greed-roll on everything until the set fills out.
Coeurl Beach Set: craft it or buy it outright
The Coeurl Beach Set can be crafted, purchased on the Market Board, or bought for 250 Faux Leaves from the Faux Commander in Idyllshire (5.7, 6.1). On the Market Board the price varies, and buying it outright can run in the region of 600,000 gil if you would rather skip the crafting route.
To make it yourself, you first need the Leatherworker Demimateria Tome from Talan in Mor Dhona to unlock the recipe. After that, gather the components and craft the pieces.
The crafting materials include Waterproof Cotton Cloth, Coeurl Fur, and Silk Thread, along with Fieldcraft Demimateria I. It is not a difficult craft, which makes this one of the more accessible high-quality swimsuits if you keep a Leatherworker leveled.
Moonfire Faire / Summer Set: still craftable after the event
One Moonfire Faire set earns a spot here because it can be crafted even after the seasonal event ends. As long as you unlocked the recipe during a past event, you can keep making it yourself whenever you like.
If you did not unlock the recipe, the set is usually available on the Market Board for a low price. Pieces such as the Moonfire Faire Halter also turn up in other places around the game, including Palace of the Dead caches, so spares are not hard to come by. Whether you craft it or buy it, the cost stays small.
Southern Seas Swimsuit: the cheapest paid pick
The Southern Seas Swimsuit is a simple one-piece originally released for the Moonfire Faire. It is now only available through the FFXIV Online Store, where it sells for $3 USD, making it the least expensive swimsuit you can buy for the game. The set is designed for female characters, and the leg gear shown in previews is not included.
If you already completed the original Moonfire Faire quest “An Adventurer’s Life for Me,” you can repurchase the swimsuit through a Recompense Officer or a Calamity Salvager in Limsa Lominsa, Old Gridania, or Ul’dah instead. For everyone who missed that event, the store is the only way to add it now.
Recovering past Moonfire Faire outfits
Older Moonfire Faire swimsuits are technically retired, but two paths remain open. If you completed the quests for a set the first time around, visit a Calamity Officer or Recompense Officer to repurchase it at any time.
If you never did those quests, many of the sets return through the real-money shop instead.
