How to Get the Warden’s Hat in Rex Infernus (BO7 Zombies)

The Warden’s Hat, called the Warden’s Heart in-game, is a hidden reward on Rex Infernus, the final round-based map in Black Ops 7 Zombies. Earning it turns your operator into the Warden and cancels the movement slow that spiders inflict. Getting it comes down to one strange trick: riding a Web Mother into the Pack-a-Punch machine.

Quick answer: Reach Round 16 so Web Mothers spawn, lure one to the Pack-a-Punch in the Nexus Forge, grapple onto it to ride it, then rack up about 50 zombie kills nearby until the Web Mother sacrifices itself and drops the Warden’s Hat.

Requirements before you start

Three things need to be in place. Without them, the Web Mother trick cannot begin.

Grapple	A Void Claw grapple charge to mount the Web Mother

The Web Mother is the elite spider enemy on the map. It only appears from Round 16 onward, so there is no way to force it earlier.

How to earn the Warden’s Hat

Survive until at least Round 16. Keep playing normal rounds until a Web Mother spawns in.

Draw the Web Mother down to the Pack-a-Punch machine inside the Nexus Forge. It needs to be close to the machine for the sacrifice to register later.

Fire your grapple at the Web Mother to mount it and ride it. Stay on it while it moves around the Pack-a-Punch area.

Kill roughly 50 zombies while riding the Web Mother near the machine. Keep the kills flowing so the counter climbs quickly.

Once the kill count is met, you are thrown off the Web Mother. It then sacrifices itself into the Pack-a-Punch machine.

Grab the Warden’s Hat from the Pack-a-Punch machine. Picking it up equips it immediately.

What the Warden’s Hat does once equipped

You will know it worked because your character model changes into the Warden. That visual swap is the confirmation the item is active.

The practical benefit is immunity to spider slows. Web attacks that normally drag your movement to a crawl no longer affect you, which makes fighting through spider-heavy rooms far cleaner.

Why the trick may not trigger

If nothing happens, the cause is almost always one of these:

You are below Round 16, so no Web Mother has spawned yet.
The Web Mother is too far from the Pack-a-Punch machine when the kills finish, so it cannot sacrifice itself.
You dismounted early and did not reach roughly 50 kills while riding.

Keep the fight tight around the Nexus Forge Pack-a-Punch, stay mounted, and feed the kill counter until you are ejected. Once the Web Mother collapses into the machine, the Warden’s Hat is yours to pick up and wear for the rest of the run.
