Cryokinesis, listed in-game as Ice Manipulation, is the Blood Demon Art that PvE players keep coming back to in Slayers 2. It covers a wide area, it freezes groups in place, and its ultimate hits hard enough to clear packs while a party keeps attacking. Getting it is not a random roll, though. You need a Cryokinesis Orb, a trip to Muzan, and a four-part training questline before any of the skills appear on your bar.

Quick answer: Store your current Blood Demon Art at Muzan, consume the Cryokinesis Orb, then complete all four Cryokinesis Core Training tasks. The unlock notification confirms Ice Manipulation is active.

What you need before starting Cryokinesis Core Training

Cryokinesis is a Demon-side ability, so the whole route assumes you have already transformed and can reach Muzan’s domain. Three things need to be sorted before the questline will start.

  • A Cryokinesis Orb in your inventory.
  • An open Blood Demon Art slot. If you already run something else, store it at Muzan first rather than deleting it.
  • Spare skill points. Unlocking the art does not hand you the moveset — each skill is bought separately in the tree.

You also want a horse or a fast-travel point set up, because the four training tasks are spread across Windy Peak, Bamboo Grove, and Mistfall Harbor.

Cryokinesis Core Training: All four tasks in order

Travel to Muzan, store the Blood Demon Art you are currently using, and consume the Cryokinesis Orb. Accept the Cryokinesis Core Training questline from him — the tracker on the side of your screen will list the four objectives.

Head to the training area and interact with the meditation mat. A short timing mini-game plays out, and clearing it ticks the objective to Meditate 1/1. This is the fastest of the four, so get it out of the way first.
Ride up to Windy Peak and interact with the boulder to start Boulder Split. This one is an osu-style slicing mini-game — hit the markers in sequence and the boulder breaks apart.
Go to the water in Bamboo Grove near the Giyu boss and dive. You are looking for five glowing Sea Crystals on the floor, and the counter reads Underwater Rocks 5/5 when you are done. Watch your oxygen meter and surface between grabs rather than trying to sweep all five in one dive.

Fast travel to Windy Peak Shrine or Mistfall Harbor and defeat five Mizunoto NPCs. You do not have a Blood Demon Art yet at this point, so Soryu fist combat is what you fight with. Once the fifth one drops, the questline completes and the Cryokinesis unlock notification fires.

Spend your skill points immediately after the unlock. Until you buy the nodes, the Z, X, C, and V inputs do nothing.

Cryokinesis skills and what each input does

The kit is made up of Wintery Icicles, Cold White Princesses, Barren Hanging Garden, Freezing Cloud, and the Bodhisattva ultimate. Several inputs change behaviour depending on whether you tap or hold, which is where most of the kit’s range flexibility comes from.

InputWhat it does
ZWintery Icicles. A second input erupts spikes under the target.
XIce counter with a restraint option.
CIce blast with separate close and long-range versions.
VTap for an ice clone, hold for a stealth ice ambush.
BBodhisattva. Large AoE ice explosion, multi-hit, guard break, stun.

Bodhisattva is the reason the art is worth the trip. The explosion covers a large radius, hits multiple times, breaks guard, and leaves everything caught in it stunned — which is exactly what you want when you are clearing a camp or holding a boss still for a group. The rest of the kit is built around setting that up, with X catching aggressive players and C punishing anyone who backs off.

Learn the range split on C and V before you commit to long strings. The close and far variants cover very different distances, and firing the wrong one wastes the cooldown. Guard recharge also matters now — landing another hit cancels a defender’s recharge, while a gap in your pressure lets them recover.

Snow immunity for Iceveil Valley: Douma clan or the Emberheart Lantern

The snowy region applies freezing damage over time, and the two bosses you want for this build both live up there. There are two ways to stop taking that damage.

Reactive Adaptation (Douma clan)

If you rolled the Douma clan, its Reactive Adaptation passive ignores the snow damage outright and you can skip the accessory entirely. Douma also pairs naturally with Ice for defensive repositioning, so it is the cleanest setup for this art.

Emberheart Lantern from the Yeti Demon

On any other clan, you farm it. Climb the icy mountain to the Ancient Frost Demon arena, summon the Yeti Demon, and kill it along with the mini-yetis it brings. The Frozen Heart drop route gives you the Emberheart Lantern accessory.

The lantern is not passive. Stand next to a campfire to charge it, and the snow immunity buff builds up to a maximum of 10 minutes. Top it off before you head out, because once it expires the freezing damage starts ticking again mid-fight.

Farming the Domae boss for Bodhisattva and the War Fans

Bodhisattva and the signature War Fans both come from the Cryokinetic Demon Domae, who spawns in Iceveil Valley at night only. Daytime trips are wasted, so line the run up with the day/night cycle and make sure your snow immunity is sorted first.

Neither drop is guaranteed, which is why server hopping is the standard approach. Clear the boss, check your inventory, hop, and repeat rather than waiting out a single server’s respawn timer. Once the War Fans land, they get their own skill tree with N and K abilities to unlock.

Treat War Fan resets as limited rather than free. Its X move refreshes Z and applies the weapon’s self-buff only when the counter succeeds; the cooldown is now 20 seconds, up from 12. Use it only when you trust your read.

How Ice Manipulation performs as a farming Blood Demon Art

Ice Manipulation sits in the top tier of Blood Demon Arts, and it earned that spot on breadth rather than raw single-target damage. Its area attacks, restraint, counter, and split-range options cover open-world packs, dungeon rooms, and duels without needing a different kit for each. The most recent balance patch left it untouched, so nothing in the kit needs relearning.

For group farming specifically, the combination of long reach and a guard-breaking AoE ultimate is what makes it efficient — you hold a whole pack still while your party keeps hitting. The trade-off is presentation: there are no cutscene finishers here, and Shockwave remains the sharper pick if you want direct one-on-one pressure with a counter that breaks hyper armor.

Boss freeze resistance and catch recovery windows are still being pinned down, so treat the control tools as pressure rather than a guarantee against anything with an immunity phase. As a farming art, though, Cryokinesis is about as low-maintenance as the roster gets once the lantern is charged and Bodhisattva is unlocked.
