How to Unlock Rebirth in NBA 2K27 (All Four Tiers)

Where the Rebirth quest starts, what each tier hands your next build, and what still costs VC.

Where the Rebirth quest starts, what each tier hands your next build, and what still costs VC.

Rebirth is the MyCAREER system in NBA 2K27 that lets a brand-new build skip the slow climb from the bottom. Once a tier is unlocked, every save you create afterwards starts with your previously reached Max OVR already available and a share of your badge tokens sitting in the loadout screen on day one.

Quick answer: Go to your MyCOURT, activate the HoloHelp kiosk next to the exit and talk to Ronnie 2K. That completes the “Learn about Rebirth” objective, pays 10,000 VC, and reveals the four tier objectives. Reaching 90+ Overall on any build unlocks Tier I.

Unlock the Rebirth quest at the MyCOURT HoloHelp kiosk

Nothing about Rebirth is visible until Ronnie 2K explains it, so the quest has to be triggered manually. It lives in the Unlocks tab of the MyCAREER quest menu, described in-game as “Ronnie 2K is stuck in a holodeck. Activate it to see what he has to say.”

Open the City map and set your destination to MyCOURT. You can travel there from anywhere in the City, and no game or event has to be finished first.

Walk to the HoloHelp kiosk inside MyCOURT. It sits by the exit, and the prompt to activate it appears as soon as you stand next to it.
Activate the kiosk and sit through Ronnie 2K’s dialogue. The first objective clears the moment the conversation ends, 10,000 VC lands in your balance, and the four tier objectives become visible in your quest log.

From there, each remaining objective is cleared by leveling a build to a set Overall rating. Each one you complete unlocks the matching Rebirth tier, and 2K documents the same behaviour on its Rebirth support page.

Rebirth tier requirements and rewards

There are four tiers, each marked with a phoenix crest on the Rebirth Rewards screen. The first two come from a single build. The last two require you to own multiple builds sitting at 95 Overall or higher at the same time.

TierRequirementNew saves receive
Tier IBuild at 90+ Overall25% of your badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked, 15% faster badge progression
Tier IIBuild at 95+ Overall50% of your badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked, 15% faster badge progression
Tier III2 builds at 95+ Overall75% of your badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked, 15% faster badge progression
Tier IV3 builds at 95+ OverallAll of your badge tokens, past Max OVR unlocked

Tier IV drops the 15% badge progression bonus because there is nothing left to speed up. Your entire token pool is handed over the moment the build is created, so the badges you rely on go straight into the loadout instead of being earned back one category at a time.

Note: Rebirth only affects saves you create after a tier is unlocked. The build you used to hit 90 or 95 Overall stays exactly as it is and gains nothing.

Apply Rebirth to a new MyCAREER build

Rebirth is not automatic. It is offered as a prompt during build creation, and declining it means the new player starts with none of the carried-over progress.

Return to the main menu and open the MyCAREER builder to start a new player. Pick your position, height, weight and attribute spread as normal.
Advance through the archetype confirmation screen once you are happy with the build. This is the last point before the save is locked in.

Select “Yes” when the game asks whether you want to apply your Rebirth save. Choosing no creates a standard build with no token carryover and no unlocked cap.

What Rebirth does not give you

The most common misreading of Rebirth is that a new build arrives at your old Overall rating. It does not. The player still starts at 60 OVR. What changes is the ceiling, which is immediately raised to the highest Overall you have already reached, so a Tier I build can sit at 60 OVR with a 91 cap already available.

Closing that gap is still on you. Every attribute point between 60 and the unlocked cap has to be bought with VC on the upgrade screen. What Rebirth removes is the MyPoints grind that would normally gate those upgrades behind games played.

Check that Rebirth applied to your new save

Two screens confirm it right away. On the attribute upgrade menu, the maximum Overall listed for the new player should match the highest Overall any of your builds has reached rather than the default starting cap. In the badge menu, your token balance should already show the tier’s share instead of zero.

If both screens look like a fresh account, the Rebirth prompt was declined during creation or the tier objective had not yet cleared in the quest log when the build was made. Check the Unlocks tab to confirm the tier shows as complete before creating the next save.

Because each tier is measured against your best builds rather than a one-time reward, it is worth pushing a single player as high as you reasonably can before starting over. A build parked at 89 Overall unlocks nothing, while the same build at 90 turns every future save into a much shorter project.
