Nauctis: The Sunken Realm starts a new story arc
Nauctis: The Sunken Realm arrives February 5, 2027, and it is a brand-new plane rather than a return trip. The set is built around an underwater setting, so expect a heavy Merfolk presence and other sea-dwelling creatures, with Humans framed as the outsiders in this world.
Nauctis also brings back Homarids, the crab-like creatures first seen in Fallen Empires. More importantly, it kicks off a fresh multi-year storyline for Magic, which makes it the natural starting point for anyone jumping into the ongoing narrative in 2027.
Kamigawa: Titanbreach pits Kamigawa against Ikoria
Kamigawa: Titanbreach returns to Kamigawa on June 4, 2027, staying within its Neon Dynasty era. The hook is a crossover of planes. An Omenpath tears open above the city of Towashi, and the giant monsters of Ikoria pour through and begin to rampage.
That framing sets up a mechs-versus-monsters clash between two very different worlds, blending Kamigawa’s technology with Ikoria’s kaiju-scale creatures. It is a fitting reason to revisit a plane fans have wanted more time in.
Zhalfir returns as its own plane
