The four Universes Beyond: Warhammer 40,000 Commander decks that Wizards of the Coast first sold in 2022 are coming back in a fresh print run. After days of rumors that stores had been offered new stock, a Wizards representative confirmed to IGN that a reprint is on the way.
Quick answer: All four decks are being reprinted in a small run of the regular (non-Collector’s Edition) versions. They will reach distributors and Wizards Play Network stores soon, with availability varying by region. No price or exact on-sale date has been set.

What Wizards confirmed about the reprint
In its statement, Wizards said plainly: “Yes, we can confirm that we did a small reprint of the Commander decks that will be available to distributors and stores soon.” The company added that “Fans and WPN retailers should check with their distributors for availability, as it may vary by region.”
Two details matter here. The run is described as small, so stock will be limited even though it exists. And the reprint covers the regular versions of the precons. Wizards has not said whether the all-foil Collector’s Editions, which launched alongside the originals, will also return.
This is the first time Wizards has given a Universes Beyond product a full-deck reprint like this. Cards tied to an outside license are hard to slot into unrelated Magic sets, so the decks were widely assumed to be a one-time release.

Each 100-card deck is built for Magic’s four-player Commander format and themed around a single Warhammer 40,000 faction. The decks mix classic Magic cards reskinned with new 40K art, plus cards designed specifically for the crossover.
| Deck | Colors | Core strategy |
|---|---|---|
| Necron Dynasties | Mono-black | Self-mill artifacts, fill the graveyard, reanimate |
| Tyranid Swarm | Green / blue / red | +1/+1 counters, X-cost spells, big creatures |
| The Ruinous Powers | Blue / black / red | Cascade and spellslinging for Chaos |
| Forces of the Imperium | White / blue / black | Go-wide tokens and attacks |
Necron Dynasties is led by Szarekh, the Silent King and Imotekh the Stormlord. Tyranid Swarm runs The Swarmlord and Magus Lucea Kane. The Ruinous Powers pairs Abaddon the Despoiler with Be’lakor, the Dark Master. Forces of the Imperium is headed by Inquisitor Greyfax and Marneus Calgar.

Why prices were so high
The decks launched at an MSRP of $59.99 on October 7, 2022. Once they went out of print, secondary-market prices climbed into the hundreds of dollars per sealed deck. Sealed Collector’s Editions have traded for roughly $700.
Recent resale values for the regular decks sat well above launch price:
| Deck | Recent resale (regular) |
|---|---|
| The Ruinous Powers | ~$230 |
| Tyranid Swarm | ~$294 |
| Forces of the Imperium | ~$312 |
| Necron Dynasties | ~$356 |
A lot of that value is locked inside individual cards. Standouts include Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph (around $33), Cryptothrall (around $32), Bloodthirster (around $27), Reaver Titan (about $22), and Shadow in the Warp (about $17). Even cards with cheaper functional equivalents elsewhere carry a premium simply because they have not been reprinted.
With a reprint now confirmed, those prices are expected to fall. Values had already begun slipping on the rumors alone, and the sealed decks dropping toward MSRP would also pull down the price of their singles.

When you can buy them and what they might cost
The price and the exact on-sale date have not been announced. The reprinted decks reach distributors and WPN stores first, so the simplest way to buy one is to ask your local game store whether they have ordered stock.
Because the rest of Magic’s 2026 release calendar is already full, the reprints are not expected to be widely on shelves until early 2027 at the earliest. On pricing, more recent licensed Commander decks have cost more than $59.99, so the reprints could land slightly above the original MSRP.
Supply is limited by design. A small run means these may still be hard to find even after they ship, so securing one at or near MSRP is worth doing quickly if your store stocks it.
You can confirm you have the right product by checking that it is the standard precon and not the all-foil Collector’s Edition, which has not been included in this run. The official decklists are published on Wizards’ Magic news page if you want to verify a deck’s contents before buying.
