The Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is live on Steam, and it lays out when each piece of post-launch content lands. The plan covers four playable fighters, one additional stage, and a set of result-screen character poses, with the schedule confirmed on August 7, 2026.
Quick answer: The Year 1 Pass adds four characters and one stage across staggered windows from October 2026 through September 2027. Phoenix Cyclops arrives first (October–December 2026), and the result-screen poses are already available now.
Year 1 Pass release schedule
The pass follows a quarterly cadence, releasing one item roughly every few months. The only fighter named so far is Phoenix Cyclops; the remaining three characters and the extra stage are still unannounced. Here is the confirmed timing for each item.
| Content | Release window |
|---|---|
| Character 1 (Phoenix Cyclops) | October – December 2026 |
| Character 2 | January – March 2027 |
| Additional stage | April – June 2027 |
| Character 3 | April – June 2027 |
| Character 4 | July – September 2027 |

Note: The additional stage and the third character share the same April–June 2027 window, so two pieces of content land in that quarter. The pass also carries a hard backstop, with everything due to be delivered by December 31, 2027.
What the Year 1 Pass includes
Buying the pass grants access to four more Marvel characters, one additional stage, and a set of result-screen character poses. The poses are the one component that unlocks immediately, so pass owners can use them right away rather than waiting for a scheduled window. You can review the contents on the official Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass page.
Phoenix Cyclops, the first Year 1 fighter
Phoenix Cyclops is the only Year 1 character revealed so far and is set to arrive first, between October and December 2026. The design draws on the Phoenix Five storyline from the Avengers vs. X-Men comics, in which the Phoenix Force is split among five X-Men, including Cyclops, Emma Frost, Namor, Magik, and Colossus.
How the roster and stages grow
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launched with 20 playable characters split across five teams of four. Once all four Year 1 fighters are in, the roster reaches 24. On the stage side, the game shipped with seven stages, including Marvel’s New York, Wakanda, and Asgard, and the pass brings that total to eight.
The pace is deliberate. Because the fourth character is scheduled for July–September 2027, players who buy in at launch wait more than a year to receive the final fighter and the extra stage. The full slate is contractually committed to arrive by the end of 2027, which leaves room for a window to slip within that boundary while still meeting the deadline.
