Mortal Shell 2: How to Get the Frostshard Stone in the Conqueror’s Hoard Beacon

Cleanse the beacon, cross the frozen bridge, and claim the Frost infusion for your Triarch Repeater sidearm.

Cleanse the beacon, cross the frozen bridge, and claim the Frost infusion for your Triarch Repeater sidearm.

The Frostshard Stone is a Frost infusion for sidearms in Mortal Shell 2, and it sits well off the main campaign route. You find it inside the Conqueror’s Hoard Beacon in the Ruins of Mammon, past the boss Droeg, the Conqueror, at the far end of a hidden snowy zone. Because the path only opens after you cleanse the beacon and pray at a frozen statue, plenty of players walk past it without knowing it exists.

Quick answer: Defeat Droeg, the Conqueror, cleanse the Conqueror’s Hoard Beacon, then re-enter it, pray at the frozen statue to open the snowy exterior, cross the bridge that appears after you walk through the giant skull, and open the chest at the altar to claim the Frostshard Stone.

What the Frostshard Stone does

The Frostshard Stone is an Infusion Tarstone. When equipped, spending 20 Resolve coats your sidearm in Frost, and that infusion causes Frost buildup on critical hits. Its strength grows as you level the stone at the Tarforge in Marrow Keep, and the top rank makes the Frost effect permanent so you no longer pay Resolve for it.

LevelEffect
Lv. 1Consume 20 Resolve to infuse your sidearm with Frost
Lv. 2Infusion lasts for 4 shots
Lv. 3Infusion lasts for 8 shots
Lv. 4Infusion is permanent

Note: this stone only fits the Triarch Repeater sidearm. It will not slot into any other sidearm, so keep that pairing in mind before you build around it.

Where the Frostshard Stone is located

The chest holding the Frostshard Stone is at the very end of the Conqueror’s Hoard Beacon, in the Ruins of Mammon. This beacon appears near the bird NPC Roc and the boss Droeg, the Conqueror, at the Conquered Temple. The reward waits at the end of a freezing corridor that only reveals itself after you have cleansed the beacon and reopened it a second time.

Tip: bring the Martyr’s Ash item and equip it before you head into the snow. The frozen zone applies Frost damage over time, and Martyr’s Ash reduces that buildup, which makes the walk between fights much safer.

How to get the Frostshard Stone

Defeat Droeg, the Conqueror, at the Conquered Temple. Once the fight is over, interact with the Conqueror’s Hoard Beacon and choose Cleanse Beacon.

Enter the portal, clear the Ova inside, and return to the surface. This first pass unlocks the beacon but does not yet expose the snowy sub-area.
Re-enter the Conqueror’s Hoard Beacon and follow the opening hallway to a frozen statue. Choose Pray at the statue to open the gateway leading outside into the snow.
Move through the snowy zone by traveling from campfire to campfire. Each campfire stops your Frost buildup, so treat them as safe points while you clear the enemies in between. Grab the loot near the fires, including the Burnt Effigy.

Continue until you reach the giant skull structure and walk into it. A distinct sound cue plays to signal that the environment has shifted and a new path has opened.
Cross the newly revealed bridge lined with frozen statues. Waves of enemies spawn as you move, so push forward toward the altar at the far end rather than getting pinned in place.
Open the chest on the altar to claim the Frostshard Stone. From here, return to the portal and exit back to the surface.

How to confirm you got it

You will see the Frostshard Stone added when the chest opens, and it appears in the Tarstones menu under Infusions alongside stones like Voltaic Amber. Once the beacon is fully cleared, the map label changes from Corrupted Gate to Cleansed Gate, which confirms the area is done. Slot the stone onto the Triarch Repeater, then take it to the Tarforge in Marrow Keep to raise its rank and extend the Frost infusion toward a permanent effect.
