NBA 2K27: How to Get ‘The Coyote’ Spurs Mascot

The San Antonio Spurs mascot is one of four mascot costumes handed out across NBA 2K27’s Season 1 rewards, and it is the only one on the free MyCareer track that most players can realistically finish. Once it is claimed, it becomes a full-body outfit for your MyPLAYER, complete with the coyote head, a white Spurs jersey with the number 21, and brown fur down the arms and legs.

Quick answer: Reach Level 17 on the Season 1 MyCareer rewards track, claim ‘The Coyote’ – San Antonio Spurs Mascot, then equip it under MyPLAYER > Appearance > Clothes > The City > Mascot.

Which track The Coyote is on in Season 1

Season 1 runs three parallel reward tracks. Two are free and level up at the same time, one for MyCareer and one for MyTeam. The third is the premium track, which only pays out if you own the Pro Pass or the Hall of Fame Pass. The Coyote sits on the free MyCareer track, so no purchase is required to earn it.

This trips people up because Level 17 on the premium track is a 2,500 VC drop, not a mascot. If you are scrolling the premium column looking for the Spurs costume, you are on the wrong list.

Claim The Coyote from the Season 1 rewards track

Open the pause menu from anywhere in MyCareer, including your MyCOURT or the City, and move across to the Seasons tab.

Select Season Rewards to open the full Season 1 progression track. The screen shows your current level and every reward tier in order.

Scroll along the MyCareer row until you reach Level 17 and the tile labelled ‘The Coyote’ – San Antonio Spurs Mascot.

Press the claim button on that tile. Reaching the level is not the same as owning the item, and unclaimed tiles stay locked in your wardrobe.

Note: Season rewards only stay claimable while that season is live. Claim the mascot as soon as the tile unlocks rather than leaving it sitting on the track. No official end date for Season 1 has been confirmed.

Equip the Spurs mascot on your MyPLAYER

Back out to the main menu and open the MyPLAYER tab, then choose Appearance.

Select Clothes and switch to The City category. This is the wardrobe used for the hub and park, not for on-court uniforms.

Scroll past the usual slots for tops, bottoms, shoes, jerseys and body mods until you find the Mascot tile, then open it.

Highlight Spurs Mascot in the list and confirm. Mascots are a full-body replacement, so it overrides whatever clothing you had on that look slot.

Save it to a spare look, such as Look 2 or Look 3, so you can swap between your normal fit and the costume without rebuilding the outfit each time.

You know it worked when the Mascot slot reads Spurs Mascot with an Unequip option beside it, and your avatar appears in the hub in the coyote head, white number 21 jersey, brown furry arms and legs, and white basketball shoes.

Fastest ways to reach Level 17

Season XP comes from playing, and the daily and weekly modes are the most efficient sources. Daily Rivals cycles on a timer shown on its own screen in the hub, so checking it between games keeps you from missing a reset.

Quests and challenges are the other lever. Era-based objective lists give you a fixed set of tasks with visible progress bars, which is steadier XP than grinding random games.

There are paid shortcuts if you are short on time. The Hall of Fame Pass skips 10 levels the moment it is bought and adds bonus XP toward every level after that, while individual level skips cost $1.99 each. Neither is required for The Coyote, since it sits on the free track, but buying a pass moves you closer to Level 17 immediately.

Why the mascot does not show up

The Level 17 tile was reached but never claimed on the rewards track.
You are looking at Level 17 on the premium track, which pays 2,500 VC instead.
You are browsing a clothing category other than The City, where the Mascot slot lives.
Setting the Spurs as your favorite team or playing for them in MyCareer does not unlock the costume on its own.

Everything about the unlock is deterministic. Hit Level 17, press claim, and the costume lands in the Mascot slot for good, ready to wear in the hub alongside the Magic, Suns and Lynx mascots that other players are working toward on their own tracks.
