Palworld 1.0: Best Kindling Pals for Smelting and Cooking

The strongest Fire-type workers for furnaces, kitchens, and egg incubators, plus how to push their work levels higher.

The strongest Fire-type workers for furnaces, kitchens, and egg incubators, plus how to push their work levels higher.

Kindling is the work suitability that keeps a Palworld base running. It powers every furnace, every cooking pot, and every heat source you rely on for incubation. The 1.0 update raised the level ceiling for base workers, so a roster built during early access is likely slower than it should be. Fixing that starts with putting the right Fire-type on the furnace.

Quick answer: Renjishi has the highest Kindling stat in 1.0 at Level 8, but Jormuntide Ignis (Level 7) is the best dedicated smelter because it has no other work suitabilities, so it never wanders off the furnace.

Best Kindling Pals in Palworld 1.0

Forty-four Pals can perform Kindling work, but only a handful reach the top brackets. Higher work levels finish jobs far faster, so a single Level 7 worker outpaces several low-tier foxes. The ranking below reflects base work levels in the current version.

The best dedicated smelter: Jormuntide Ignis

For raw, uninterrupted smelting, Jormuntide Ignis is the pick. Its Level 7 Kindling stat is paired with zero other work suitabilities, which is the exact trait you want in a furnace worker. It cannot get distracted and drift off to pick up loose wood or mine a nearby node, so it stands at the Electric Furnace and keeps cooking ingots without you having to babysit it.

You can hunt Jormuntide Ignis in the irradiated biomes, or hatch one at base if you would rather skip the trip. Breeding it from the right parents lets you produce an elite Fire specialist without ever entering the dangerous zones.

Best dual-role worker: Blazamut and Blazamut Ryu

If you want a worker who earns its keep during downtime, Blazamut and its Ryu variant are the strongest multi-job option. Both carry a Level 6 Kindling stat alongside a top-end Mining stat. That combination makes them ideal for a mining outpost, where a single Pal can dig out large stacks of ore and then smelt it down into ingots on the spot. You avoid needing a second worker to move between the deposit and the furnace.

Best early game Kindling Pal: Foxparks

Before you can realistically catch a dragon, Foxparks is the efficient choice for your opening camp. It spawns right around the starting beaches, so you can capture one almost immediately and set it to work the moment you unlock the cooking pot or the Primitive Furnace on the technology tree. It is not fast, but it keeps early smelting and cooking moving while you build toward a stronger roster.

What Kindling actually does at your base

Kindling governs three separate systems, which is why some bases need more than one Fire worker running at the same time.

Smelting and ore processing

The Primitive Furnace, Improved Furnace, and Electric Furnace all need a constant heat source. Without a Kindling worker assigned, these stations sit idle and refine nothing. You know it is working when the furnace shows an active progress bar and starts producing ingots.

Cooking in bulk

A high-level Kindling Pal operates Cooking Pots and Electric Kitchens, turning stacks of raw meat and berries into food quickly. This matters more as you field high-level party Pals, since their large hunger bars drain your food stores fast. A strong cook keeps the kitchen ahead of demand.

Warmth and egg incubation

In frozen regions, a Fire worker maintains the heat you need to survive. It also affects incubation. Keeping an active Heater running next to Scorching Eggs cuts their hatch timer in half, which is a major advantage when you are building out a breeding farm.

How to make Kindling workers faster

Two systems push output beyond a Pal’s base level.

Flame Cauldron: This passive structure raises the work speed of any Pal actively performing Kindling inside your base radius. Build one to permanently speed up every furnace and kitchen task, no reassignment needed.

Pal Essence Condenser: Sacrificing enough duplicates to reach a 4-Star rank permanently increases a Pal’s base work suitability by one level. That lets a strong specialist climb even higher on the Kindling scale. Passive skills such as Artisan stack on top of that as further multipliers.

Put a dedicated Level 7 or Level 8 Kindling Pal on your main furnace, keep a Blazamut on the mining outpost, and let a Flame Cauldron buff the whole operation. That setup clears the smelting and cooking bottlenecks that otherwise leave you staring at progress bars instead of exploring.
