Hexolite is the alloy that gates almost every top-tier weapon, armor set, and sphere in Palworld 1.0. You can’t scoop it up in the wild or buy it from a merchant. Instead, you smelt it from two Feybreak Island ores at a Gigantic Furnace, and you need to reach the late Technology tree before the recipe even appears.
Quick answer: Unlock the Hexolite recipe at Technology level 58, build a Gigantic Furnace, then smelt Hexolite Quartz together with Chromite while a Kindling Pal keeps the furnace lit.

Requirements to unlock Hexolite crafting
Two things stand between you and your first Hexolite: the Technology unlock and the furnace that makes it. Neither shows up early, so expect this to be an endgame project after you’ve reached Feybreak Island.
- Reach Technology level 58 and spend 2 Technology points to unlock the Hexolite recipe.
- Build a Gigantic Furnace, the only station that smelts Hexolite.
- Have a Kindling Pal on hand to fire the furnace. Pals with strong Kindling, such as Jormuntide Ignis, heat it fastest, and adding more Fire Pals speeds the smelt.
The Gigantic Furnace itself is expensive to construct. Bank a large stockpile before you start it, because it draws heavily on advanced materials, including Flame Organs, Plasteel, Polymer, and Ancient Civilization Parts.

Both smelting ingredients live only on Feybreak Island, southwest of Mount Obsidian. Because they share the island, you can loop both into a single farming run.
| Ingredient | Where and how to get it |
|---|---|
| Hexolite Quartz | Rainbow-colored crystal nodes across Feybreak’s beaches and grasslands. The densest clusters sit in the southwest corner near -1062, -1426. Each node yields up to 80. |
| Chromite | A buried Feybreak ore. Reveal deposits with the Metal Detector, or bring the Pal Smokie to track it down. |
Hexolite Quartz nodes behave like Ore or Coal rocks. A Refined Metal Pickaxe is the minimum tool that can break them, while the Pal Metal Pickaxe mines them far faster. Bring a strong mining Pal to speed things up. Each piece weighs 2, so equip Lightweight armor and carry a weight-reducing Pal, then deposit your haul before your movement speed drops. Loose pieces also sit scattered on the ground, and Celesdir drops 2 to 3 Hexolite Quartz when defeated or caught.
Note: Feybreak Warriors patrol the southwest region. If a red warning flashes while you’re flying, dismount at once or anti-air fire can knock your Pal out of the sky.
For a hands-off supply, unlock the Hexolite Quartz Mine later in the Ancient Technology tree. It produces the ore endlessly and costs 100 Hexolite Quartz, 70 Stone, and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts, so put your first big hauls toward building it.

Smelt Hexolite at the Gigantic Furnace
You’ll know it worked when Hexolite lands in your inventory. It stacks up to 9,999 and weighs 1 per unit, so a full batch is easy to carry. If the recipe doesn’t appear in the furnace, you haven’t unlocked it yet in the Technology tree. If the smelt never starts, no Kindling Pal is assigned to power the furnace.

Get Hexolite from Pal drops instead
If you’d rather fight for it than mine it, three powerful Pals drop Hexolite directly. Each one drops 10 Hexolite at a 100 percent rate, so a single kill or capture is worth a full smelting session.
| Pal | Drop rate | Quantity | Where to find |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necromus | 100% | 10 | Breeding only |
| Neptilius | 100% | 10 | Field boss |
| Paladius | 100% | 10 | Field boss |
To squeeze more out of each fight, run a partner with a drop-boosting skill. Dumud Gild and Nitemary both add +200 to item drops for any matching Pal source, while Katress or Blazehowl Noct add +80 to neutral drops.

What Hexolite is used for
Hexolite feeds 27 recipes, covering the strongest gear the game offers. Prioritize armor and a reliable weapon first, since surviving Feybreak makes every future farming trip faster.
- Weapons: Laser Gatling Gun, Beam Sword, Advanced Bows, and the Plasma Cannon, plus ammo like Advanced Arrows and Plasma Cartridges.
- Armor: The Hexolite armor line, including Heat Resistant, Cold Resistant, and Lightweight variants, along with the Advanced Shield.
- Spheres: Exotic Spheres from the Advanced Sphere Assembly Line for catching high-level Pals.
- Mobility and utility: Triple Jump Boots, Air Walker Mk I and Mk II.
- Buildings: Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator, Advanced Medicine Facility, and more.
- Saddles: Gear for Feybreak mounts such as Silvegis and Bastigor.
Set your base over a Hexolite Quartz cluster, staff it with high-level mining Pals and transporters, and you turn a tedious grind into a steady supply. Once the ore flows in and the Gigantic Furnace keeps burning, Hexolite stops being a bottleneck and becomes the backbone of your endgame loadout.
