Star rank: Starfruit from Dog Coins
Starfruit pushes a Pal’s star rank up without any breeding, and you buy it with Dog Coins from a Medal Merchant. Dog Coins come from hunting wild Mimogs around the World Tree, where a single kill can drop hundreds at a time alongside large piles of Gold Coins and Training Manuals.
The trick is stacking drop rate. Keep Katress and Blazehowl Noct in your active party. Both carry a partner skill that makes Neutral Pals drop 80% more items when defeated, and Mimogs count, so the two bonuses stack and multiply every Dog Coin haul.
Stats: Giant Pal Souls from Aegidron
Pal Souls raise a Pal’s core stats at the Statue of Power, and the fastest source is Aegidron. Breed and butcher Aegidron, which spawns near the World Tree entrance, to farm Giant Pal Souls in bulk. Feed the large souls into a Crusher to break them down into medium and small souls, so you can top up whichever soul size a specific upgrade needs.
Note: Pal Expedition Station runs to the World Tree Subterranean City Ruins also return Giant Pal Souls in stacks, so a long expedition can passively cover soul demand while you do other things.
Active skills: duplicate Skill Fruits in an Orchard
Skill Fruits teach a specific active move to a Pal, and you never need to hunt the same fruit twice. Place any Skill Fruit into a Skillfruit Orchard, water it through the growth phases, and harvest multiple copies of that fruit back out.
If you need a fruit you do not own yet, buy them from the Arena Merchant with Battle Tickets, or harvest the natural skill fruit trees scattered around the World Tree. Once you have one copy, the Orchard turns it into a renewable supply.
Passives: Implants and Ancient Relic farming
Passive skills come from Implants, and there are two kinds. Permanent Implants are bought from Bounty Vendors with Bounty Tokens or from Arena Merchants with Battle Tickets. Disposable Implants are produced by processing Ancient Relics in the Relic Recycler, which can also spit out Starfruit, Skill Fruits, and legendary implants.
To feed the Recycler, farm Ancient Relics at the Dusty Ravine fast travel point by killing Snock Lux. Build your party for the right drop type. Vaelet boosts Ground drops, while Menasting and Menasting Terra both boost Electric drops and stack together. For World Tree Holy Water and relics at the same time, the sealed area near the World Tree packs tight groups of Selyne and Wistella that drop relics in volume when you run a Dark and Neutral drop-boost party.
Potential stats and level: the Moon Lord raid
Life Fruit, Power Fruit, and Stout Fruit raise a Pal’s potential HP, Attack, and Defense, respectively. You can buy them from Medal Merchants, but the level 50 Moon Lord raid drops them alongside Training Crystals, which is why it is the go-to farm.
Each Training Crystal instantly levels a Pal up by one, so a full stack lets you take a low-level Pal straight to the cap without grinding fights. Run Moon Lord repeatedly to bank both the stat fruits and the crystals in one loop.
Trust: Kinship Peaches
Trust is a hidden stat multiplier. Higher trust directly increases a Pal’s Vitality, Attack, and Defense, and you raise it by feeding Kinship Peaches. There are three reliable ways to stockpile them.
- Run hard-mode expeditions, which return peaches passively.
- Harvest natural spawns at Oasis Isle.
- Loot chests at high-level enemy bases on Sakurajima and Feybreak Island.
Work suitability: Handbooks
Handbooks permanently raise a Pal’s work suitability level, which matters for base workers rather than combat. You get them from chests at enemy bases opened with legendary treasure maps, or you buy them with Dog Coins at the Medal Shop. Since Dog Coins already come from your Mimog runs, handbooks slot neatly into the same farm.
Awakening: craft Awakening Crystals
The final layer is awakening, which grants a flat bonus to Vitality, Attack, and Defense. Awakening Crystals are crafted at the Ancient Workbench using Radiant Gems and World Tree Holy Water. Both ingredients come out of the same World Tree loops that supply your relics, so save them as you farm.

Working through the systems in the right sequence avoids wasted materials and makes each stat boost visible on the details screen.
You will know a Pal is fully built when its stat tooltips list every bonus at once: separate lines for trust, awakening, Enhance Souls at +60%, and passive skills at +20%, all sitting on top of a maxed star rank and level. Once those lines appear, the Pal has hit its ceiling and is ready for raids and expeditions.
