All Arrows and How to Craft Them in Palworld

Every arrow type, its Primitive Workbench recipe, technology level, and the bow it feeds.

Bows stay useful in Palworld long after you unlock firearms, mostly because arrows are cheap and every bow needs the right one loaded. There are five arrow types in Palworld 1.0, and each has its own recipe, technology level, and matching bow. Get the pairing wrong and the bow simply won’t fire.

Quick answer: All five arrows are made at the Primitive Workbench. Basic arrows need only Wood and Stone at Tech Level 3; higher tiers add a Pal drop or crafted metal and unlock at higher levels.

Every arrow type and its crafting recipe

Each recipe below produces a batch of 10 arrows per craft. You unlock each one in the Technology tab once you hit its required level and spend a technology point.

How to craft arrows at the Primitive Workbench

Reach the required level and open the Technology tab in your menu. Spend a technology point to unlock the arrow you want. Basic arrows come first at Level 3, so you can start stocking up almost immediately.
Gather the materials. Chop trees with an Axe for Wood and mine rock deposits with a Pickaxe for Stone. Both also lie loose on the ground, so early runs fill up fast.
Walk up to a Primitive Workbench, select the arrow, set a quantity, and start production. Hold the craft button to build them, or assign a Pal with the Handiwork work suitability to churn out large batches while you do other things.

You’ll know it worked when the finished arrows land in your inventory. They must be in your inventory for the bow to shoot, so keep a stack on hand before heading out.

Note: the same recipes are also available at later crafting stations, including the High-Quality Workbench, Weapon Workbench, and both Assembly Lines, if you’d rather mass-produce arrows at a more advanced base.

Which bow each arrow works with

Arrows and bows are locked to each other by type. A Fire Bow only fires Fire Arrows, a Poison Bow only fires Poison Arrows, and so on. If you want elemental damage, you have to craft both the arrow and its matching bow.

Where to get the special materials

Basic arrows never need anything beyond Wood and Stone, and feathers are not part of the recipe despite existing in the game. The higher tiers are where sourcing matters.

  • Flame Organ drops from Fire-type Pals such as Foxparks and Rooby. You need one per batch of Fire Arrows.
  • Venom Gland comes from Poison and Dark-type Pals like Depresso and Daedream. One is enough for a batch of Poison Arrows.
  • Refined Ingot, Plasteel, and Carbon Fiber are mid-to-late game crafted materials, which is why Reinforced and Advanced Arrows sit at Tech Levels 42 and 57.

A Pal’s main element shows next to its name, so it’s easy to spot which ones will drop what you need. You can also buy Flame Organs and Venom Glands from wandering merchants if farming is slow.

What each arrow does in combat

The standard Arrow deals straight damage with no extra effect. It’s the weakest of the five, but it’s the cheapest and never runs dry as long as you have Wood and Stone.

Fire Arrows deal Fire damage on contact, which hits harder against Pals weak to Fire. Poison Arrows apply the Poison status, draining a target’s HP over time. Both elemental types also add a capture bonus, so they’re worth loading when you’re trying to weaken a rare boss Pal before throwing a sphere.

Reinforced and Advanced Arrows are pure damage upgrades for the endgame Compound and Advanced Bows. They cost far more per shot, but the payoff is much higher output against tough targets. For most of a playthrough, bows and crossbows remain a reliable choice because their ammo is easy to keep in supply, unlike the harder-to-craft rounds for firearms.
