Elphidran is the Dragon-element Pal that fills entry No. 63 in the Paldeck, and it doubles as an early flying mount once you craft its saddle. It roams several regions during the whole day, so you rarely have to wait for a specific time window to find one. The tricky part is knowing which region to head to for the level you want.
Quick answer: Catch a wild Elphidran on the main island (Levels 20–28) or in the No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary in southern Palpagos. For a higher-level catch, take the Level 30 Alpha east of the Ancient Ritual Site fast travel point, or the Level 45 Alpha inside Astral Mountains Cavern.
Elphidran wild spawn locations
Elphidran spawns at the same spots by day and by night, so timing does not matter for a standard catch. The best low-level hunting grounds sit in southern Palpagos, near the coast. If you want the strongest wild versions, you will need to reach late-game areas instead.
| Region | Wild level range | How to reach it |
|---|---|---|
| Main island | Lv 20–28 | Widespread spawns across southern Palpagos |
| No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary | Lv 20–23 | East of the Sea Breeze Archipelago – Castaway Beach fast travel point |
| Southwest of Hypocrite Hill | Lv 20–28 | Fast travel to Hypocrite Hill, then head southwest |
| World Tree | Lv 80 | Endgame 1.0 story area |
The No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected zone, so expect a rising wanted level while you are inside. Grab your target and leave quickly to avoid a fight with the enforcers.

Add to Google Preferences →Level 30 Alpha Elphidran boss location
Elphidran appears as a Level 30 Field Boss just east of the Ancient Ritual Site fast travel point. Alpha Pals share the same species but have a larger frame and a bigger health pool, so bring high-tier spheres if you plan to capture rather than defeat it. Alpha catches also give better base stats to build on later.
Elphidran is a Dragon type and takes 1.35× damage from Ice attacks, so an Ice Pal such as Frostallion or Bastigor will wear it down fast. Chip its health low, then throw your spheres to lock in the capture.
Dungeon spawn (Astral Mountains Cavern)
Elphidran also turns up inside dungeons. In the Astral Mountains Cavern, a Tundra-biome dungeon, it spawns as a Level 45 Alpha Pal. This is a good middle option if you want a stronger catch than the wild versions but do not want to grind all the way to the World Tree.

Other ways to get Elphidran
If you would rather skip the hunt, three routes let you add Elphidran without tracking down a wild spawn.
Breed it at a Breeding Farm
Elphidran hatches from more than a dozen viable parent pairs, so use whichever Pals you already own. Reliable combinations include Melpaca and Azurobe, Blue Slime and Dogen, or Cave Bat and Dogen. Place both parents in a Breeding Farm, collect the egg, and incubate it.
| Parent 1 | Parent 2 | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Melpaca | Azurobe | Elphidran |
| Blue Slime | Dogen | Elphidran |
| Cave Bat | Dogen | Elphidran |
| Demon Eye | Dogen | Elphidran |

Hatch a Large Dragon Egg
Elphidran sits in the standard hatch pool for the Large Dragon Egg, alongside Pals like Quivern and Eidrolon. Pick up eggs found around the islands, drop one into an Egg Incubator, and wait for it to hatch. Which Pal you get is random within that pool, so hatching is a chance-based route rather than a guarantee.
Buy it from a Black Marketeer
Black Marketeers stock Elphidran at a base price of 5,230 Gold Coins. The actual cost scales with the Pal’s level, so a higher-level Elphidran runs far more expensive than a Level 1 one. This is the quickest option if you have gold to spare and do not care about IVs.

Confirming the catch
A successful capture registers Elphidran in your Paldeck as No. 63 and adds the Pal to your party or box. Its Amicable Holy Dragon partner skill lets you ride it as a flying mount, and once you have one, the Elphidran Saddle becomes craftable at the Pal Gear Workbench. From there you can put it to work with Lumbering Lv. 3 at your base or keep it as a mobile scout.
