Quick answer: Leave Red alive after speaking with her while she lies injured beside the Dovecote bell. Once the Seven-Stars Formation is defeated, find her memory flower by the Tower Rear Exit bell.
How to start Daughter of the Dark Sect
In the Mandate Encampment, Daughter of the Dark Sect is a side tale. Red is dying 11 m away from the Dovecote bell. For help locating it, consult the bell locations guide.
Speak to her to start the tale. The first objective, “Learn the identity of Red”, then appears in your quest log.
The map below marks Red’s spot by the Dovecote bell.
Will Red appear again?
After speaking with her, continue onward; Red swings away by rope, updating the objective to “Will Red appear again?” That is the tale’s final objective.
It is also possible to end up in a fight with her near the Dovecote bell before she leaves. In that fight, her boss name reads “Red, the Mysterious Swordswoman”. If you kill her, the rest of her story is closed off. Let her escape if you want to see where her story goes.
Red’s memory flower
If Red is spared, her story continues through a memory flower. Defeating the Seven-Stars Formation makes its memory flowers appear, including hers, about 6 m away from the Tower Rear Exit bell. The memory flowers guide covers the others.
Interact with her flower to claim the memory “I. THE MANDATE’S DECISION” along with a Sha-Chi accessory.
If you spare Red, she returns at Mount Soulrend before the final battle.
