Rex Infernus: How to Get the Free Corrupted TR2 (BO7 Zombies)

The exact round, purchase, and rain sequence that hands you a guaranteed TR2 without touching the Mystery Box.

The exact round, purchase, and rain sequence that hands you a guaranteed TR2 without touching the Mystery Box.

The TR2 is the legacy FN FAL from Black Ops 2, back in Black Ops 7 Zombies as an Ultra Rarity weapon exclusive to Rex Infernus. You can pull it from the Mystery Box, but there is a repeatable side objective that awards a free Corrupted version outright. It uses the M34 Novaline wall-buy, a purple Astral Flame, and a named Web Mother spawn.

Quick answer: On Round 25 or higher, buy the M34 Novaline at Dravakar’s Inner Sanctum, charge the Pack-a-Punch braziers with Astral Flame, wait for it to rain, shoot the flame at the M34 Novaline wall-buy, kill the Web Mother, grab the Unstable TR2, and run it straight to Pack-a-Punch to stabilize it into the Corrupted TR2.

Requirements before you start

A few conditions have to be true or the sequence will not trigger. Line these up first so you are not wasting rounds.

RequirementDetail
RoundMust be Round 25 or higher
Weapon targetM34 Novaline wall-buy at Dravakar’s Inner Sanctum
Pack-a-PunchAlready active at the Nexus Forge
One-per-game limitYou can run this or the M10 Breacher (Olympia) version, not both in a single match

Note: The same method works for the Olympia using the M10 Breacher wall-buy in Caltheris’ Passage. Because you only get one per game, decide which weapon you want before you begin.

Get the free Corrupted TR2, step by step

Once you are past Round 25, head to Dravakar’s Inner Sanctum and purchase the M34 Novaline from the wall. This is the weapon that eventually turns into the TR2, so the buy has to happen before anything else.

Return to the Nexus Forge and pick up a Void Claw from one of the green grapple pedestals. Aim at one of the floating purple orbs and pull it repeatedly toward Pack-a-Punch until it locks into the machine and starts spinning around it.
With the orb spinning, crank the wheels beside Pack-a-Punch. This charges the cauldrons and produces the purple fire known as Astral Flame. Do this quickly, because the orb disappears after a short time and you will need to pull in a fresh one if it vanishes.

Make it rain. Rain happens automatically during a Deathspinner (spider) round, or you can force it in the next round by activating the blue well inside Veytharion’s Sanctuary, which requires finishing the Veytharion block puzzle first.
While it is raining, carry the Astral Flame to the M34 Novaline wall-buy and shoot the fire directly at it. The wall-buy outline should be glowing before this works. If it is not lit, play a few more rounds until it starts glowing.

A rift opens and a named HVT Web Mother spawns. Kill it. Its soul feeds into the M34 Novaline, and you can then grab the weapon from the wall, now in its Unstable TR2 form.
Immediately sprint the Unstable TR2 to Pack-a-Punch to stabilize it. Plan your route before you pick it up. This converts the weapon into the Corrupted TR2, listed in-game as “Corrupted Press F”.

How to confirm it worked

You know the process succeeded when the wall weapon changes from the M34 Novaline into the Unstable TR2 after the Web Mother dies, and again when Pack-a-Punch renames it to the Corrupted TR2. Packing it also gives the weapon its upgraded behavior, turning it semi-automatic with a scope attached.

The Corrupted TR2’s downside

The “Corrupted” label is not cosmetic. Every missed shot costs you 35 health, so accuracy matters more than usual. That drawback stacks on top of modest damage numbers, which makes the TR2 underwhelming for high rounds despite its Ultra Rarity status. If raw performance is your goal, the Mammoth LMG or Echo-12 Shotgun will carry you further, but the free TR2 remains a clean way to add the legacy FAL to your loadout without gambling on the Mystery Box.
