Eggs in Ride A Pet do not hatch the moment you drop them. Every egg you haul back to your ranch sits in a nest and works through a growth timer before it turns into a pet, and that timer is the real bottleneck on how fast your roster grows. There is exactly one in-game control that shortens it directly, and a handful of habits that stop you from wasting the time you do have.
Quick answer: Open the Egg menu and press Grow All, which brings up the Skip Egg Growth purchase prompt. Everything else is throughput — keep all nests filled and get eggs home faster.
How egg growth works in Ride A Pet
The loop is short. You ride out into the map, pick up an egg — a Brown Egg from the forest, for example — and the moment it is in your hands an Egg Will Break timer starts counting down. That timer is not the growth timer. It is a delivery window, and if it runs out before you reach your plot, the egg is gone.
Once you drop the egg into an empty nest in your ranch pen, the second clock starts. The egg grows in place, hatches on its own, and the pet lands in your collection where you can mount it or leave it on the plot generating cash. Nothing you do out in the world speeds up an egg that is already sitting in a nest.
- Carrying timer: starts on pickup, ends when the egg breaks or reaches a nest.
- Growth timer: starts when the egg is placed, ends in a hatched pet.
- Nests are finite, so an occupied nest blocks the next egg.
- Servers cap at six players, so popular egg spawns are contested.
Use Grow All to skip egg growth
Grow All is the only button in the game that touches the growth timer itself. It lives inside the Egg menu and applies to what is currently sitting in your nests, which makes it worth saving until your plot is full rather than firing it on a single egg.
Check the timed event indicator in the bottom-right corner before you commit. Event windows change what is worth having in your nests when you skip.
Shrink the gap between spawn and nest
If you are not spending on skips, the way to get more pets per hour is to stop losing eggs in transit and to stop leaving nests idle. Both of those are travel problems, and travel in Ride A Pet is decided almost entirely by the speed of the pet you are riding.

Swap your mount the instant a hatch comes out faster than what you are riding. Speed is the stat that compounds here — a quicker pet reaches distant spawns inside the break window, which means fewer wasted runs and fewer minutes where a nest sits empty waiting on you. A radar turns egg hunting into a direct trip rather than a lap around the map, and the entry-level Advanced Radar costs $50 in in-game cash.
Hatch Luck upgrades change what comes out of an egg, not how quickly it grows. Do not buy them expecting shorter timers.
Shop passes that touch the egg loop
The Shop menu carries Giant Eggs alongside the game pass list. Auto Collect, at 699 Robux, handles pickup on your behalf and keeps income ticking while you are not actively running routes, and Infinite Backpack removes the carry ceiling that otherwise forces a trip home mid-run. Neither one shortens a growth timer — they reduce the dead time around it.

How to confirm an egg finished growing
You will know a skip or a natural hatch worked without hunting for a confirmation message. The nest clears, the pet appears on your plot, and you can mount it immediately from the pet menu.
Open the Index afterwards. A pet you have not owned before flips from locked to unlocked there, and first-time unlocks pay out a cash reward — a fresh Index entry can hand you $75K on collection. If the Index entry has not changed, the egg produced a duplicate rather than a new species, which still counts toward income but not toward your collection reward.
Once the nest is clear, the clock resets on your side of the loop. The fastest players are not the ones who skip every timer — they are the ones who never let a nest sit empty while they are riding home.
