The Roblox mobile app is getting a new home screen built around tabs for Moments, Chat, and Me, with a Build tab layered in for players in New Zealand. The idea is to fold chatting with friends, spotting a game, and jumping into it into one place, instead of bouncing between apps and taps.
Quick answer: Open the Roblox app in Canada, New Zealand, or Singapore to see the new Moments, Chat, and Me tabs; New Zealand players 9 and older who are age-verified also get a Build tab. Other regions receive the tabs over the coming months.
Where the new Roblox tabs are available now
The rollout started on July 28th, 2026 in three countries and expands globally from there. Which tabs you see depends on your region and your age.

Moments: one-tap game discovery
Moments is now a dedicated tab and works as a feed for finding your next game. You scroll through gameplay clips shared by friends and other players, and every post carries a Join button that drops you straight into the game featured in the clip.
New in the tab are higher-quality videos from selected content creators. These aren’t just highlight reels; each one links directly to the game it shows, so a clip that catches your eye is one tap away from actually playing. Roblox ranks this content the same way it ranks games elsewhere, favoring experiences players stick with rather than clips that get a single view.
Moments first appeared as a beta in September 2025, letting players capture, edit with music and descriptions, and share their own gameplay clips. Discovery in the Moments tab is available to age-checked players 16 or older.
Chat: one conversation across games
The Chat tab is where you recommend games, line up a play session, and jump into a game together with friends. It appears for all chat-eligible players. The goal is that when a friend tells you to try something, joining is as quick as tapping through the message.
Roblox says the conversation will soon continue within and across games, so a chat can travel with you into a game without switching apps or coordinating on separate devices. Chat sits on top of the platform’s existing safety layers, including age checks to chat, Roblox Kids and Select accounts, Trusted Friends, and real-time chat rephrasing, and it only turns on when it is age-appropriate for the player.
Note: Communication features such as experience chat, voice chat, and party chat require completing an age check. Users aged 5 to 9 need parental consent for experience chat, and users under 16 need parental consent for direct chat.
Me: profile and avatar in one tab
The old Avatar tab is now the Me tab. It puts your profile details and your avatar’s look in the same place, so you can update both without hopping between screens. The tab also adds several new avatar backgrounds as another way to personalize how you appear.
Build: mobile game creation in New Zealand
Build is a mobile-first creation tool that runs alongside Roblox Studio and shares the same back end, models, and chat history. It entered public alpha on July 28th, 2026 for age-verified users 9 and older in New Zealand.
You can start a game from a simple text prompt on your phone, for example describing a cozy adventure set in a forest, and the tool generates a first version covering gameplay mechanics, environment, characters, visual style, and sound. From there you can refine it in Studio, which offers the broader set of creation tools. Once Build fully launches, creators will also be able to start in Studio and check progress on mobile.
Creators aged 16 and up can publish their creations to a global audience. There’s a free basic version alongside paid options. To keep quality up, Roblox ranks these games by player retention, the same as any other game, so a title nobody plays won’t surface on the homepage.
How to know the update reached you
You have the new experience when the app’s bottom navigation shows Moments, Chat, and Me instead of the older layout, with Build appearing only for eligible New Zealand creators. If you’re outside the first three countries and still see the previous home, the tabs simply haven’t rolled out to your region yet, and there is no confirmed date for individual markets beyond the general plan to expand over the coming months.
Together, the tabs point the app toward a single hub for connecting with friends, seeing what they and creators are playing, expressing yourself, and, in New Zealand for now, building something of your own.
