The Night Stalker is a customized silver pistol you can unlock in Examination, and there are two very different ways to walk away with it. One is the intended challenge run set up by a new NPC, and the other is a restricted-server route that lets you pick up the weapon directly from the map.
Quick answer: Talk to Yuri and complete his challenge by killing 250 infected without dying, finishing with the boss D-Zero, to earn the Night Stalker. Alternatively, on a restricted server, beat the game up to Sin, trigger a reset in Sector 3’s Lift Maintenance room, and touch the Night Stalker in the spawn-area stairwell to claim the badge.

What the Night Stalker is and its golden variant
The Night Stalker is a reward weapon added with a recent Examination update. On the map it appears as a modified silver pistol lying on the floor, and claiming it also awards a badge. Once you own it, you can grab it again from a table at spawn whenever you rejoin.
There is a cosmetic difference tied to how you clear the intended challenge. Completing the run without picking one of the classes gives you a golden Night Stalker instead of the standard silver version. The golden model looks different but performs the same, so it carries no stat advantage.

Add to Google Preferences →Intended method: Yuri’s 250-kill challenge
The designed way to earn the Night Stalker starts by consulting Yuri, the NPC introduced alongside the update. Accepting his challenge tasks you with killing 250 infected in a single run without dying, and a handful of bosses appear along the way. D-Zero is the final boss you must defeat to finish.
You can take on the run using one of four classes, or attempt it classless. Choosing a class gives you the standard Night Stalker on completion, while a classless clear rewards the golden cosmetic version. The NPC dialogue fills in the finer rules before you begin, so read through Yuri’s lines before committing to an attempt.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Start point | Consult the NPC Yuri to begin the challenge |
| Kills needed | 250 infected in one run |
| Bosses | Several during the run, with D-Zero as the final boss |
| Fail condition | Dying at any point ends the attempt |
| Class choice | 4 classes available, or classless for the golden variant |

Restricted-server method: pick up the Night Stalker directly
There is a faster route that skips the full challenge, but it only works on a restricted server. Public and VIP servers will not let this method complete, so setting up the correct server first is the most important part.

Tip: After claiming the badge, rejoin the server, and you can pick the weapon up again from the table at spawn.
How to confirm it worked
Success on the restricted-server route is confirmed when a badge notification pops up in the bottom-right corner as you touch the pistol. From that point, the Night Stalker is tied to your account, and the table at spawn lets you re-equip it after rejoining.
Why the restricted-server method fails
Most failed attempts come down to a few clear causes. Fixing these usually means you only need a couple of tries before it works.
- Running it on a public or VIP server instead of a restricted server forces a full restart.
- Being too slow after the respawn, so you miss the tight window to reach the stairwell.
- Not standing still for the full 10 seconds, which leaves the Respawn button unavailable.
- Skipping the “TURN OFF FOR BAD PCS” graphics toggle before triggering the reset.
The upstairs door in the stairwell stays locked, so do not waste time on it during the run. Whether you grind out Yuri’s 250-kill challenge for the golden variant or take the restricted-server shortcut, the Night Stalker ends up in your loadout either way.
