Every match in Illegal Soccer turns on which gadget you pull from a question block. Some let you steal possession from across the pitch, others barely move the needle before their timer runs out. The 14 items in the pool are not equal, and knowing which ones are worth chasing in the shop saves you a lot of wasted Coins.
Quick answer: The Jetpack is the strongest item overall, followed by Freeze Gun and Rocket Punch. Energy Drink sits at the bottom because its generic stat boost rarely changes a play.

Illegal Soccer items ranked, S to D
Placements reflect how reliably an item wins possession, stops a goal, or creates a scoring chance, balanced against how hard it is to use in the chaos of a live match. This ranking reflects the game as of September 2026.
| Tier | Items |
|---|---|
| S | Jetpack, Freeze Gun, Rocket Punch |
| A | Bazooka, Shotgun, Grappling Hook, Forcefield |

| Item | Rarity | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
| Jetpack | Mythic | 1% |
| Freeze Gun | Epic | 3.5% |
| Rocket Punch | Rare | 4.6% |
Jetpack is the best item in the game and the hardest to pull. Flight lets you reach the ball from angles nobody can cover, escape a collapsing defense, and steal possession almost at will. It works in attack and defense, which is why it clears everything else even at a 1% drop chance.
Freeze Gun locks an opponent in place for a moment, and that window is enough to take the ball or set up a teammate. It shines near the goal, where freezing a defender or the keeper opens an instant scoring chance.
Rocket Punch locks onto a target and sends them flying, stripping possession and creating space in one hit. It is simple to trigger and punishes anyone carrying the ball into a dangerous position, which makes it dependable even though it rewards good timing.

A-tier: strong but situational
| Item | Rarity | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
| Bazooka | Epic | 3.5% |
| Shotgun | Uncommon | 7% |
| Grappling Hook | Uncommon | 7% |
| Forcefield | Common | 12.5% |
Bazooka fires an explosive that knocks back everyone near the impact, so it excels when players cluster around the ball. Its range beats most other weapons here, but a missed shot wastes the whole item.
Shotgun is a clean defensive answer to a fast dribbler. A close-range blast drops the target and swings possession, provided you aim accurately at short range.
Grappling Hook pulls you toward the ball or another player, giving you the fastest repositioning outside of the Jetpack. The aiming demand keeps it below the top tier, but it rewards players who stay active across the field.
Forcefield wraps you in a bubble that blocks tackles and attacks for a short time, ideal for protecting the ball while surrounded. It does not help you score directly, so its value is defensive rather than decisive.

B-tier: useful in the right moment
| Item | Rarity | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
| Barricades | Common | 12.5% |
| Magnet | Uncommon | 7% |
| Landmines | Rare | 4.7% |
Barricades let you drop up to three walls to block shots or force opponents off their route. Placement decides everything here. A wall in the right lane protects your goal, while a careless one blocks your own team.
Magnet pulls a loose ball toward you and is excellent for winning scrambles and rebounds. It only helps when the ball is unclaimed, which makes it more situational than the items above.
Landmines plant an explosive trap that launches nearby players when triggered, useful around the goal or common passing lanes. Their payoff depends on setup and prediction, so they are less consistent than a direct attack.

C-tier: niche picks
| Item | Rarity | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
| Oil Spill | Uncommon | 7% |
| Flintlock | Rare | 4.7% |
| Supercharge | Common | 12.5% |
Oil Spill creates a slippery patch that makes players lose control if they step on it. You need to predict where an opponent is heading, and the spill can trip up your own movement too.
Flintlock is a single-shot pistol that knocks a player down, essentially a weaker Shotgun with shorter range. Since the Shotgun does the same job better, the Flintlock rarely earns its slot.
Supercharge grants a short speed boost that helps you chase the ball or escape pressure. It is easy to use but fades quickly, and it can make judging tackles and sprints harder in a crowded match.
D-tier: skip it
| Item | Rarity | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
| Energy Drink | Common | 12.5% |
Energy Drink gives a brief, generic stat boost. It does nothing to take possession, disrupt an opponent, or improve your positioning in a specific way, so it is the least impactful item you can roll.

How to unlock items
Items are unlocked through the shop’s roll system, and rarer items are harder to pull. Once an item is in your collection, it can appear when you grab a question block during a match, and you activate it with the Left Mouse Button.
Z or clicking the shop icon, then switch to the “Your Items” tab.Because rolls are random, chase the Epic and Mythic items only if you have Coins to spare. Common and Uncommon items like the Shotgun, Grappling Hook, and Barricades are far more reliable to build a working loadout around.
