Dueling Defenses is a waist accessory published by Roblox on September 11, 2026 and handed out as a reward during the Roblox Innovation Awards 2026 ceremony. It was not sold, traded, or dropped randomly. The only way to get it was to be inside the event experience, [RIA] The Block, while a specific part of the broadcast played out.

Quick answer: Join [RIA] The Block and watch one complete dueling segment of the RIA26 broadcast from start to finish in the same server, without server hopping. The badge fires at the end of the segment and the accessory lands in your inventory. The in-game reward window ran on September 12, 2026.

Dueling Defenses item details

The accessory is a Roblox-published waist item with full PBR textures, meaning it carries its own metalness, normal, roughness, and emissive maps rather than a flat texture. Its catalog entry is the Dueling Defenses Marketplace page, which is also where you can check ownership on your own account.

Unlock condition: Watch a full dueling segment in [RIA] The Block

The trigger is attendance time, not skill. During the ceremony, creators battled each other across different games, and that battle block is the “dueling” segment the badge is tied to. You had to be present for the whole thing in one continuous session.

Launch [RIA] The Block from Roblox and let the venue load fully. The lobby drops you into the RIA2026 stage area with other attendees.

Get into a server before the dueling segment starts. Joining halfway through the segment does not count toward the badge, so arriving early is the safe play.
Stay in that same server and watch the dueling segment from beginning to end. You can move around the venue, dance, and use emotes while it plays, since the requirement is watch time rather than a specific action.

Do not rejoin, switch servers, or close the client until the segment finishes. Server hopping resets your progress toward the badge and is the single most common reason the reward never lands.

Tip: The in-game Event Prizes menu is where the event’s rewards are listed, so it is worth opening once you are inside the venue to see what is tracked for your account.

How to confirm Dueling Defenses unlocked

Two things confirm it. In-game, a badge award notification appears on screen when the segment wraps. On the web, the Dueling Defenses badge shows as earned in the Badges section of the [RIA] The Block experience page, and the waist accessory itself appears in your inventory ready to equip.

If the badge is listed but not marked as earned on your profile, the accessory has not been granted. Badge status is the reliable check, not the in-game notification, which is easy to miss in a crowded venue.

Why the badge does not award

CauseWhat happens
Server hopping mid-segmentWatch progress is lost and the badge does not fire
Joining after the segment beganThe segment is not counted as watched in full
Leaving before the segment endsNo award, even if most of it was watched
Watching outside [RIA] The BlockStreams viewed elsewhere do not grant the badge

Other RIA26 rewards earned the same way

Dueling Defenses was one of several free accessories tied to the ceremony broadcast. Crown of Rivals, Terminal Torch, and Duck Duck Duo used the same attendance rule, each tied to a different portion of the show, with the required watch time varying by item. Silver and golden variants of those accessories also exist in the catalog and were not part of the standard in-game watch reward.

The in-game reward window for Dueling Defenses opened and closed on September 12, 2026, so the badge can no longer be earned by loading into the venue now. Roblox has not confirmed a return date or any alternative way to obtain it. If you already hold the badge, the accessory stays on your account permanently and can be equipped at any time from your inventory.
