Gems are the only currency that unlocks new classes in Search For The Needle, the Garage Games haystack-searching experience on Roblox. There is no way to earn a class by finding needles faster or by beating your best time — every character role comes out of a single spin machine, and that machine only accepts Gems.
Quick answer: Open the Classes booth, then press Spin Class for 40 Gems. Stock up first by claiming the +25 Gem group reward and the daily login rewards, which pay 10 Gems on Day 1 and 500 Gems on Day 8.
Where to spin for classes and what it costs
You know the spin registered when your Gem total drops by 40 and the menu lands on a class card. If the button does not respond, your balance is under 40 and you need to top up first.
Claim 25 free Gems from the group reward
The fastest one-time Gem injection is the FREE REWARD panel, which pays +25 Gems for two small tasks. Both have to be done before the CLAIM button becomes active.
Note: this reward pays out once per account. It covers most of a single 40-Gem spin, but not all of it, so pair it with the daily rewards below.
Daily login rewards: Gem payout by day
The REWARDS menu is where the bulk of your free Gems come from. It runs on an eight-day login track, and the payouts are far from even — Day 2 and Day 8 are worth more than the rest of the week combined.

Logging in across the full eight days hands you 880 Gems in total, which is 22 spins at the standard 40-Gem rate. Day 2 alone (120 Gems) already covers three rolls, so a player who logs in twice can start spinning without spending Robux at all.
Buying Gems with Robux and the 2x Gems gamepass
The Gem shop sits inside the same menu system and takes Robux directly. Alongside straight Gem purchases there is a 2x Gems [GP] gamepass priced at 39 R$, which doubles the Gems you take in rather than handing you a lump sum up front.
Because the multiplier applies to what you earn afterwards, it is worth more on a fresh account than on one that has already burned through the eight-day reward track. Buying it before Day 8 rather than after is the only sequencing that changes your final Gem count.

Eight roles appear in the Classes menu. Starter is what you begin with, and the other seven are what the 40-Gem spin can award.

If the free reward will not claim
A failed claim usually shows an “Unable to join…” message on the group prompt. That means the join request never completed on Roblox’s side, not that the reward is broken. Finish the join in your browser or the Roblox app, confirm you appear as a member of the Garage Games community, then rejoin the server and press CLAIM again.
The other common blocker is a missing like. Both conditions have to be satisfied at the same time — liking without joining, or joining without liking, leaves the reward locked.
Played free, the maths is simple. Claim the group reward, log in daily, and the 25 Gems plus the first two days of the reward track already put you past 150 Gems — enough for three spins before you have spent a single Robux. The Farmhouse party menu and the rest of the farm carry on working exactly the same whichever class you land on.
