Enriched Uranium is a plot upgrade in Sell Lemons that forces two random mutations onto every tree grown on that plot. It was introduced alongside the Mutations mechanic in the Orchard Update, and it keeps affecting new trees for as long as it stays on the plot. That is exactly why it becomes a problem when you are trying to control which mutations a tree carries.

Quick answer: Enriched Uranium is applied to a whole plot and stays there, so the practical way to be rid of it is to never let it sit on the plots you use for mutation stacking. Isolate it to a corner plot and grow your controlled trees on separate, Uranium-free plots, where Cleansing Fertilizer can still strip mutations tree by tree.

What Enriched Uranium does to a plot

Enriched Uranium is a plot-level item, not a per-tree one. Once applied, every tree that grows on that plot gains two random mutations on top of whatever it would normally develop. That randomness is useful when you want more mutation rolls, but it works against you when you need a tree to come out clean.

It helps to compare it against the other mutation items so you can see which one actually removes mutations and which ones only add them.

The key detail is that Cleansing Fertilizer removes a mutation from a single growing tree. It does not clear the Enriched Uranium effect from the plot itself, so trees planted on that plot keep receiving two random mutations no matter how much you cleanse the tree.

Why Uranium blocks mutation stacking

The mutation stacking and crossbreeding method relies on planting unmutated fruit so you can cleanly remove unwanted mutations later. That whole approach depends on plots that add nothing on their own. Enriched Uranium breaks it because it keeps injecting two random mutations into every fresh tree.

Because of this, the crossbreeding method cannot be run if your entire garden is covered in Enriched Uranium. If every plot forces extra mutations, there is nowhere left to grow a clean, controlled tree, and the cleansing step can never catch up.


How to keep plots free of Enriched Uranium

Since Enriched Uranium acts on the plot and affects the trees grown there, the reliable fix is placement, not undoing. Contain it to one corner and keep the rest of the garden clean for controlled growing.

Apply Enriched Uranium only to a corner plot of your garden. Keeping it in a corner limits how many surrounding trees can interact with it and leaves the middle of your garden open for clean plots.

Grow your stacking and cleansing trees on separate plots that never had Enriched Uranium applied. On those plots you can plant unmutated fruit and use Cleansing Fertilizer to remove one mutation at a time until only the mutations you want remain.
Keep the trees you are working with spaced apart. Trees placed too close together can grab or take mutations from neighboring trees, which reintroduces the exact random mutations you are trying to avoid, including anything the Uranium corner produces.
Save fruit from every tree you use in the process. That way you always have an unmutated or partially cleaned starting point to replant, instead of being forced back onto a Uranium plot.

Note: If you do want the extra rolls Enriched Uranium provides while hunting for a specific mutation, it can help you reach it faster. Just make sure it stays quarantined to its corner plot so it does not contaminate the trees you plan to clean.


How to confirm a plot is clean

You can check any tree’s mutations by tapping the (i) button in the fruit’s profile, either in the fruits menu or next to the tree it grows on. That menu lists every mutation on the fruit along with its effect.

A plot is safe to use for controlled growing when a freshly grown, unmutated fruit comes out with only its expected Pure mutations from its Evolution tier and nothing extra. If new trees keep appearing with two additional random mutations, Enriched Uranium is still active on that plot, and you should move your stacking work to a different one.

Remember that mutations lock in once a tree is fully grown and cannot be changed after that. So the moment to keep a plot Uranium-free is before you plant, not after the tree has finished growing.
