Quick Race is the built-in matchmaking mode in SKI, and joining it takes nothing more than walking onto the right pad in the mountain hub. There is no menu button and no lobby search to type into. The whole process happens by physically moving your character to the Quick Race station and standing on its platform.
Quick answer: Walk to the hut labeled QUICK RACE on the left side of the hub and step onto the round glass pad in front of it. Matchmaking starts on its own.
Where the Quick Race station is in the hub
You start every session at the central spawn point of the snow hub. The Quick Race station sits on the left edge of the map, in the row of small wooden huts. To reach it, move past the central wooden board and continue toward the huts that hold the Shop and Quests.
The correct hut is marked overhead with the words QUICK RACE. Below the label you will see the floating text GO! – FURTHEST DOWN and the prompt STEP ON THE PAD TO JOIN, which confirms you are at the right spot.

How to tell you are in the queue
Once your character is on the pad, the queue status appears on screen. It reads something like NEED 1 MORE PLAYER 0/10, showing how many racers have joined and how many are still needed. As long as that counter is visible, you are in the matchmaking queue and the game is waiting for the rest of the field.
Stepping off the pad returns you to the open hub, so stay on the platform until the race launches.
