The V2 weapons in Slayers 2 are gated behind two things: a forge you have to unlock manually, and a pile of schematics hidden in caves, puzzle rooms, and rooftops across the map. The forge itself lives inside the Ouwigahara dungeon, which doubles as the game’s main endgame grind for materials and points.
Quick answer: At level 65, talk to Blacksmith Togane in Hidden Mist Village, choose The Forge, then travel past Mistfall Harbor to the purple Ouwigahara portal to access his crafting menu.
Unlock the forge with Blacksmith Togane (level 65+)
Nothing in the Firstlight or Nightfall lines can be crafted until you accept the forge quest line from Togane. He is the same blacksmith you will interact with later inside the dungeon, so the conversation in the village is only the trigger.

The forge is not in the village. It sits on Floor 1 of Ouwigahara, and the only way in is a purple portal at the end of a stone bridge beyond Mistfall Harbor.

What the Nichirin Forge can craft
The forge menu covers three groups of recipes. Damascus weapons act as the stepping stone tier, Firstlight gear covers the armor and weapon set, and a separate list holds the elemental katanas, including the Volcanic Katana and the Tidal Katana. Nightfall recipes sit alongside Firstlight in the same crafting flow.

Recipes appear in the menu whether or not you own the matching schematic. Having the recipe listed is not the same as being able to forge it.
Every Firstlight and Nightfall schematic location
Schematics are physical objects placed around the world. You interact with each one to study it, after which it is recorded in your inventory’s schematics list. Most are underwater or behind some form of climb or lever.
| Schematic | Region | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| Firstlight Insect Katana | Mistfall Harbor | Submerged cave under the nearby river |
| Firstlight Lantern | Bamboo Grove | Upper floor room, behind a floor plate puzzle |
| Firstlight Katana | Icevell Valley | Hidden ice cave system |
| Firstlight Spear | Icevell Valley | Icy pedestal deeper in the snow tunnel |
| Nightfall Katana | Mistfall Harbor | Stone pedestal in the flooded sewer tunnel |
| Nightfall Claws | Icy cliffs near the Yeti | Deep underwater cavern |
| Nightfall Scythe | Icevell Valley | Side path past the Firstlight Katana |
| Nightfall Axe and Mace | Bamboo Grove | Pagoda rooftop, via the outer wall lever |
| Sound Cleavers | Icevell Valley | Cavern held by Duelist Hibiki |
Icevell Valley: Bring a charged Emberheart Lantern
Four of the nine schematics are in Icevell Valley, and the caves there are dark. Teleport in, charge your Emberheart Lantern at a campfire first, then drop into the water behind the statue to reach the hidden ice caves. From inside, the Firstlight Katana comes first, with the Nightfall Scythe further along a branching path and the Firstlight Spear at the end of a snowy tunnel.
Sound Cleavers: Duelist Hibiki
The Sound Cleavers schematic is not lying on a pedestal. It comes from Duelist Hibiki, an NPC tucked inside a cavern out in the Icevell Valley snowfields, so treat this one as a fight rather than a collection stop.

Bamboo Grove: Two separate climbs
Bamboo Grove holds two schematics in the same structure but on different routes. The Firstlight Lantern is on an upper floor and requires completing the floor plate puzzle in that room. The Nightfall Axe and Mace sits on the pagoda rooftop, which you reach by pulling the lever mounted on the outer wall.
Farming Ouwigahara for forge materials
Ouwigahara is a wave-based floor climb. You clear mobs, pick buff cards between floors, and choose modifiers that scale the difficulty. Points accumulate the whole way and become the currency you spend on crafting materials afterwards.
Prepare before you queue. Apothecary potions and elixirs matter over a long run, and when card choices come up, pure damage and lucky draw options do more for your total than situational picks.

The early floors are the warm-up. Floor 10 ends with the Hand Demon boss, and from there the waves keep escalating through Floor 50, where a strong run accumulates well over 150k points. Floor 51 is where you cash out and open the Ouwigahara Chest, which can drop legendary items such as the Todoroki Koshimaki and the Red Oni Mask.
Where to spend points and mythic drops
- Changer Zeni — exchanges tower points for crafting materials.
- Tower Crystal — trades points for mastery and EXP boosters.
- Ginzo, at Mistfall Harbor — converts mythic items into Mythic Refinement Ore.
Ginzo is the one to remember if your inventory is clogged with mythic gear you will never equip. Mythic Refinement Ore feeds directly back into the forge recipes, so surplus drops are not dead weight.
How to confirm the forge and schematics are active
Two checks tell you everything. Open the schematics tab in your inventory and confirm the blueprint you just studied is listed there by name. Then talk to Togane on Ouwigahara Floor 1 and confirm the Nichirin Forge menu opens with the Damascus, Firstlight and elemental katana recipe lists visible.
Once both are true, the remaining work is pure material grinding. Pick the weapon you actually intend to main first, since Firstlight and Nightfall pieces compete for the same ore and points, and a half-finished set of three weapons is worse than one completed V2.
