Slayers 2: How to Level Up Fast From Level 1 to 60

The quest chain, Exp multipliers, and server choices that carry a new Slayers 2 character to Final Selection.

Leveling in Slayers 2 is a quest chain, not an open grind. Each quest giver hands you a repeatable objective that stays worth doing for a handful of levels, then a boss quest that carries you into the next area. Skipping ahead to enemies you can’t kill quickly is the single biggest waste of time in the early game, and a few menu toggles matter almost as much as the fights themselves.

Quick answer: Repeat Krue’s three-bandit quest to level 7, then chain Zuko, Tom’s bear quests, Chaka’s Kaiden quests, and Wagwan’s quests. Equip an Exp title and set your spawn next to whatever you’re farming.

Slayers 2 leveling route from level 1 to 60

Use this as your checklist. When a quest stops dropping meaningful Exp or the enemies start taking too long, move to the next row.

LevelQuest giverWhat you farm
1–6Krue (Windy Peak)Three Bandits, repeated
7KrueMini Boss Zuko
10–17Tom (Bamboo Grove Sanctuary)Bear cubs
18–25TomMother Bear
25Breathing trainerBreathing Style questline
26–33ChakaKaiden’s subordinates
34–40ChakaKaiden
40–60Wagwan (under the waterfall)Hoyuzo’s Guard NPCs
45+The Sisters / SoyamaFinal Selection, then boss hunts

The exact level you switch areas is flexible, and the bands overlap. Bandits can hold up until roughly level 15 if you’re also killing Zuko, and the bear area can carry some players to 30. Judge it by clear speed rather than the number.

Levels 1–7: Krue’s bandit quest at Windy Peak

You start at Windy Peak, and everything you need for the first few levels sits within a short run of spawn. Buy a weapon first if you can afford it. Noe’s Sword Shop sells a Regular Katana for 500 and a Fancy Katana for 1,500, and the cheaper one is fine because weapon mastery builds either way.

Open the map and get your bearings. Windy Peak shows Noe’s Sword Shop, Bandit Grove, Bamboo Grove, the Shrine, and the gates that lead out of the village.

Walk to Krue near the red torii gate and talk to him. He has a red exclamation mark above his head and offers the quest to defeat 3 bandits, which pays +25 Exp and +12 Yen on turn-in.
Leave through the gate and enter the Wilderness. Bandits appear immediately beyond it, with a red quest arrow directing you toward them. The tracker labels the total “Bandits remaining,” letting you see the outstanding count at all times.

Kill the bandits, using W A S D to move and Q to dash out of their swings. Fists work at level 1 and build Fist Mastery, but a katana clears them noticeably faster. Blocking shows a white shield icon, which is your cue that you’re actually absorbing the hit.
Return to Krue, hand in the quest, and take it again. Repeat that loop until level 7 unlocks his boss quest.

Keep your combos short. Landing three hits and resetting beats planning a long string and getting interrupted halfway through it.

Level 7: Mini Boss Zuko and the Cutlass

Zuko spawns in the Wilderness on a timer, and the game shows a countdown (“Mini Boss Zuko Spawns in 42s”) so you can position before he appears. Take Krue’s Zuko quest at level 7 and run it alongside the bandit quest, since both objectives share the same area.

Kills here drop a Common Chest. The rolls include +60 Exp, +30 Yen, Quick draw x1 (20%), and Cutlass x1 (10%). The Cutlass is the reason to keep farming him: it carries its own skill set including Quick Draw, which makes clearing trash far quicker than a plain starter katana. It requires Lvl. 10 to equip, so expect to bank it for a couple of levels.

Don’t leave Windy Peak without clearing the side quests

Several starting-village quests are prerequisites for later progression, and ignoring them stalls you around levels 35 and 45 when the next quest giver refuses to talk. Clear all of them at least once before you move on.

  • Recover the Lost Pages — rewards the Book of Guidance, which permanently points at your next progression quest.
  • Kazu’s spy quest — kill the disguised civilians only. Targets carry a special dash or star marker in their names; plain civilians are not targets.
  • The shipment quest to Ora — opens up the area you’ll want later for Beast Cores.

The spy notes you pick up can be translated, and they point toward where to head next.

Levels 10–26: Tom’s bear quests

Tom stands in Bamboo Grove Sanctuary, downhill from the starting area. He offers a bear cub quest at level 10 and a Mother Bear boss quest at level 18. Mother Bear drops a chest with reasonable but unremarkable loot, so treat her as an Exp target rather than a gear hunt.

Activate the nearby spawn point before you start the grind. You will die here occasionally, and a spawn on the wrong side of the map turns a 20 second reset into a two minute run.

Kuro, the black market merchant, appears near the bear area at night and vanishes in the morning. His stock includes lanterns and accessories such as the Cherry Blossom Lantern, which helps with night visibility while you farm.

Levels 26–60: Chaka, Kaiden, then Wagwan

At 26, head toward the snow area and talk to Chaka. His first quest sends you after Kaiden’s subordinates, and the Kaiden quest itself opens at 34. Farm both until 40. If Chaka has nothing for you, it’s almost always because Kazu’s spy quest back in the village is still incomplete.

At level 40, Wagwan provides the quickest route. He is beneath the waterfall below the bear area, and his quests send you against Hoyuzo’s Guard NPCs, which are tedious but repeatable. Keep grinding them until level 60. Final Selection technically allows level 45, but solo players realistically need level 60 to complete it.

At level 25, trainers for Breathing Styles become available. The choices are Water, Thunder, and Flame; Wind, Stone, and Insect are also available, as are Sound and Serpent. Decide on a style before collecting its materials, since every trainer has different requirements: Urokodaki charges 5,000 Wen and 30 Demon Horns for Water, Rengu requires 10 Demon Horns for Flame, and Obari requires 20 Demon Horns plus five Beast Cores for Serpent. Read the trainer’s dialogue before starting a lengthy farm.

Exp multipliers and settings that speed up the grind

Equip an Exp title

Press M to open the menu, then locate Titles within Progression. Equipping titles like Odd-Jobber, Village Pillar, and Oathkeeper adds a Quest Exp Factor bonus that multiplies quest turn-in rewards. With the whole route relying on quests, this is the cheapest available way to speed it up.

Pick your server population deliberately

Busier servers give more Exp from mobs and quest completions, so a full server is better while you’re grinding bandits, bears, and guards. The logic flips once you’re hunting named bosses after 45: low-population servers with one to three players stop other people from stealing your target and wasting the travel time.

Move your spawn and unlock shrines

Set your spawn to the Bamboo Grove nearest whatever you’re farming, every time you change areas. Then buy shrine access with in-game cash as you discover them. Shrines act as fast travel points to places like Hidden Mist, Mistfall Harbor, Butterfly Estate, and the snow region, which cuts the dead time between a death and your next quest attempt.

Spend skill points on what’s blocking you

You get three skill points per level, and mastery is tracked separately from your character level, so leveling alone won’t fill out your moveset. Unlock Wall Climb and double jump early — several trainer routes and quest areas are awkward or impossible without them. After that, buy against your current problem: HP and block branches if you keep dying mid-fight, stamina nodes if you can’t keep attacking or repositioning.

Check the Inventory at the same time. Equipment shows its stat buffs in the item description, and Equip Vanity lets you wear a cosmetic look without giving up the stats on your real gear.

After level 45: the boss hunt loop

Finish Final Selection at The Sisters to receive a Kasugai Crow, Ore, the Slayer Uniform, and Mizunoto rank. Choosing Soyama’s route to become a demon instead grants the Biwa Bell, allowing teleportation to Muzan’s Lair. Both factions open a boss hunt board, which becomes the game’s quickest source of Exp afterward.

Boss hunt quests come in rarity tiers including Epic, Legendary, and Mythic, with higher tiers paying more Exp and cash. Take the highest-rarity target you can actually kill in a reasonable time rather than the biggest number on the board.

The full rotation is straightforward once set up. Join a low-population server, take the best realistic quest from the board, use Recommended Quest map settings to find the nearest discovered shrine, fast travel in, kill the boss, and turn it in with your Exp title equipped.

How to confirm a quest and level-up registered

Every gain is shown on screen, so you never have to guess. Kills and turn-ins pop floating “Exp” and “Yen” numbers, the quest tracker decrements its counter as you clear targets, and chest rewards open a panel listing each roll with its drop chance. Your level sits next to the health and stamina bars at the bottom as “Lv. 4 / 100” and flashes a “LVL 5” banner the moment the threshold is crossed.

If the quest tracker still shows targets remaining after a fight, you hit something that wasn’t a valid target — most often a plain civilian during Kazu’s spy quest. Walk back to the quest giver and check the objective text before restarting the run.
