If you still have D-O objectives outstanding, they need finishing before the changeover rather than after it.

Everything else in the tycoon continues running normally during the transition. Daily quests still cycle, the Droidex still tracks your collection, and credits keep accumulating from droids assigned to their slots.

Map areas that have not changed yet

The obvious places to look for pre-event groundwork are the Jawa Sandcrawler and the Hostile Takeover arena, since both are fixed landmarks that a new event would plausibly modify. Neither has been altered. Climbing the Sandcrawler and walking the arena turns up the same geometry that was there before the reveal.

Droid spawns at the Sandcrawler are also unchanged, still cycling through the usual pool with entries such as Beskar Droid, Stellar Droid and Diamond Droid at Common, and Rainbow Droid at Rare. Any structural expansion tied to the event, including talk of a second floor above the battle area, is speculation and has not been shown.

How to prepare before the Protocol Droid Event goes live

Clear your remaining D-O objectives first. That event’s rewards close with it, and there is no indication that its crystal grind carries into what comes next.

Run the fusion station to knock out the Fusion Ready daily quest. A fuse costs 1.20T credits, and the quest flips to a “QUEST COMPLETE! REWARD READY!” banner once the fusion resolves, which is your confirmation that it registered.

Bank Upgrade Chips rather than spending them thin. Common and Rare droids upgrade cheaply and spawn often enough at the Sandcrawler that chips are better saved for higher rarities, where spawns are rarer and the chip cost climbs sharply.

Tidy up your droid assignments before the event lands. Placing a droid in its matching specialist area applies a 10 percent credit boost, and each upgrade tier doubles a droid’s credits-per-second, so a Rainbow version earns eight times its base rate.

Until the timer expires, the billboard is the single source of truth on how close the event is. When it hits zero, expect the same pattern used by previous drops in the mode, with a fresh banner and a new objective set appearing in the base rather than a separate download or opt-in.
