Star Wars Galactic Racer: How to Get and Use Tuning Points

Tuning Points are the long-term currency in Star Wars Galactic Racer, and they fund permanent upgrades for your speeder across the Campaign. Everything you buy with Credits during a tour resets when that run ends, but anything bought with Tuning Points stays with you, even after you lose. You cannot spend them mid-run, so the value comes from banking them and investing between tours.

Quick answer: Finish top three in an Eliminator for +4, top three in a Race for +1, or complete a Scenario for +10, then spend the points on permanent upgrades at the Vehicle Select screen when you start a new tour.

How to earn Tuning Points in Star Wars Galactic Racer

Three activities award Tuning Points, and each one carries a different payout and risk level. The amounts are fixed, so you can plan a tour route around the events that pay the most.

EventRequirementReward
EliminatorFinish in the top three+4 Tuning Points
RaceFinish in the top three+1 Tuning Point
ScenarioComplete the full challenge+10 Tuning Points

A skull marks Eliminator events on the Campaign roadmap. These races offer the biggest payout for a single event, so enter one when available if you can maintain a podium position. Each cycle removes the racer in last place until only three are left; placing third or better completes the event. Dropping out or crashing costs a League Token.

Standard Races only hand out a single point, but they are far safer than an Eliminator. Any top-three finish still earns the point, and a low finish without a wreck keeps you in the tour.

Scenarios are the largest single source. Each one runs five races and ends with an Eliminator finale you have to win, so they take longer and carry more risk. The upside is that they sit in a separate mode, so failing a Scenario does not touch your Campaign progress.

Because Scenario failure has no Campaign penalty, you can keep retrying one for its full +10 without any downside to an active run.

When you can spend Tuning Points

You can invest Tuning Points only once the Campaign has knocked you out. After a tour ends, beginning another takes you back to the Vehicle Select screen, where the points can be spent. Your points carry over between runs, so you can save up a large balance before using them without penalty.

The points do two things. They unlock the other speeders, and they permanently raise the base stats of a vehicle you own. Permanent upgrades climb up to Level 15, which caps how far a single speeder can be pushed, so points are best concentrated on the vehicle you actually race rather than spread thin.

You can test the Speeder Bike and Skim Speeder in Arcade events, which use preset vehicles, before paying to unlock them. That lets you decide which one fits your style without spending a single point first.

How to reset and respec Tuning Points

If you want to move points off a stat, shift them into another vehicle, or rebuild from scratch, you can refund everything you have invested. The reset happens from the same Vehicle Select screen, so plan it around the start of a new tour.

Open the Vehicle Select screen when starting a new tour and highlight the speeder whose upgrades you want to clear.
Hold L2 to reset that speeder’s upgrades. This costs 2 Tuning Points and returns every previously invested point so you can reassign it freely.

You will know the reset worked when the speeder’s upgraded stats drop back to their unspent state and your Tuning Point total jumps by the amount you had invested, minus the small reset fee. From there, pour the refunded points into whichever stats or vehicle you want next.
