“Buy Cheap, Never Sleep” is one of Kabb Uppercut’s personal missions in Star Wars Zero Company, and it is easy to walk past on the Holotable because it sits on Anaxes rather than on the sector you are being pushed toward by the story. It is optional, it locks two operators into your squad, and it can be failed outright by losing the wrong person.
Quick answer: Use the Holotable in the Den, open the MISSIONS tab, move to the ANAXES sector, select BUY CHEAP, NEVER SLEEP, build a squad that includes Kabb Uppercut and Tesh Hawks with no injured operators, then press LAUNCH MISSION.
Buy Cheap, Never Sleep mission details (Anaxes, Kabb)
The mission belongs to the Smugglers and Slugrats chapter, which is also where “Dark Waters” and Trick’s “No Clone Left Behind” show up. Crewmate missions like this one do not advance the story, but clearing both of an operator’s missions unlocks a trophy or achievement. Kabb’s other one, “Kith and Kin,” appears much later on Mapuzo.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Chapter | Smugglers and Slugrats |
| Sector | Anaxes (Zone Forn) |
| Type | Crewmate mission for Kabb Uppercut |
| Required operators | Kabb Uppercut and Tesh Hawks |
| Success condition | Steal the Separatist comm chip |
| Failure condition | Hawks or Kabb is killed |
| Listed rewards | +25 Intel Cap, +150 Den Level, +1 Capacitor |
The exact cycle the node appears on shifts between playthroughs, since missions are only offered for a limited number of cycles and every mission you run pushes the cycle counter forward. If it is on the board, treat it as something to clear soon rather than something to save.

Launching a tactical mission advances the cycle, and any Operation you did not start is gone with it. Because Intel is earned from combat missions and spent on non-combat Operations, sitting on a stockpile while you deploy is wasted value. Open the OPERATIONS tab first and clear whatever is worth running.

Note: the mission’s own reward includes a raised Intel Cap, so dumping Intel now leaves headroom for what you bring back.
How to launch Buy Cheap, Never Sleep from the Holotable

What the mission asks for on the ground
The objective chain runs in three stages, and the middle one is where most squads get punished. B1 Battle Droids screen the courtyard, then BX Droid Snipers and BX Droid Commandos arrive as reinforcements, and B2 Super Battle Droids show up in the later waves.
| Objective | What it requires |
|---|---|
| SECURE THE SEPARATIST TECH | Push through the lower courtyard and reach the security chest |
| DEFEND THE SAFECRACKER 1/3 | Hold position around the console for three waves while it cracks |
| EVACUATE ALL OPERATORS (0/4) | Move every surviving operator onto the upper landing pad |
Downed is not dead. If Hawks or Kabb drops, rally them or use a Medpac before the enemy turn compounds the problem. The mission only fails if one of those two is actually killed, so the safe play during the safecracker phase is to keep both of them behind full cover on high ground while a third operator works the console.
How to confirm the mission completed
Once all four operators stand on the extraction platform, the pickup cutscene plays and the Mission Success screen appears with a run summary of tactical rounds, enemies defeated, and damage dealt. The Mission Results panel follows with your payout, which can include Intel, a Capacitor, and a Focus Point bonus, plus a note for any operator who picked up an injury.
Back at the Ring of Kafrene, the clearest confirmation is Kabb himself. Find him in the Den and he will explain what the comm chip was really for, which is opera broadcasts from Taanab. That conversation is the marker that his first crewmate mission is done and closed out.
If anyone came back hurt, send them to a Medical Bed in the Medbay before the next deployment, since injuries stack and three of them mean permanent death on standard difficulty. Spending the new Focus Points and running another Operation at the Holotable costs you nothing extra, because the cycle does not tick over again until you launch your next tactical mission.
