Star Wars Zero Company: How to Launch the Kinro Decryption Operation

The optional Holotable operation costs 50 Intel and pays out either 25 Intel or 500 Credits.

The optional Holotable operation costs 50 Intel and pays out either 25 Intel or 500 Credits.

Kinro Decryption is an optional, non-combat operation tied to Jae. It never appears on the battlefield and it never asks you to fire a shot. Everything happens at the Holotable inside the Den, where you spend Intel, pick one of two approaches, and collect the payout immediately.

Quick answer: Walk to the Holotable in the Den, open the Operations tab, select Kinro Decryption from the top-left of the wheel, press Execute to spend 50 Intel, then choose Runa for 25 Intel or M-3VO for 500 Credits.

Kinro Decryption requirements and cost

The only hard gate is Intel. Operations are paid for with Intel points rather than credits, and this one is priced at 50. If your Intel pool is short, the Execute option cannot be used.

Intel comes from completing missions and from gathering information out in the field. Scouting with the PICO-5 electroscope is one reliable way to top the pool back up before you commit to an operation.

How to launch Kinro Decryption at the Holotable

From the Den’s hangar bay, head into the Holotable room. The Holotable is the central planning station where every mission and operation for the current cycle is listed.
Interact with the Holotable and switch to the Operations tab. This tab is separate from the combat mission list and only shows assignments that cost Intel.

Pick Kinro Decryption from the top-left of the operations wheel. The entry lists its 50 Intel price before you commit to anything.
Press Execute. The Intel is deducted and a briefing appears explaining that Kinro, Jae’s castellan, has sent out a distress call.
Choose one of the two approaches on the following screen. The operation resolves the moment you confirm your pick.

Runa or M-3VO: Which approach to pick

The choice screen is binary and the reward attached to each option is shown up front, so there is no guesswork. Runa returns Intel, which partially offsets the 50 you just spent. M-3VO pays in credits instead.

Tip: If you are saving up for another operation later in the same cycle, Runa keeps your Intel pool healthier. Take M-3VO when you need credits for weapon mods or Den purchases.

How to confirm the operation finished

A completion screen appears within seconds of confirming your approach, stating that the operation is complete and showing the reward you earned. Kinro Decryption then disappears from the operations wheel, and your Intel or credit total updates to reflect the payout. There is no follow-up deployment and nothing to travel to.

Why Kinro Decryption may not be available

Two things usually block it. The first is Intel: with fewer than 50 points banked, the operation cannot be executed no matter how many times you open the tab. The second is timing. The Holotable only offers the missions and operations available for the current cycle, and launching a combat mission pushes you into the next cycle. Clear everything you want in the Den before you deploy the squad, because an operation you skipped may not be on the wheel afterwards.

Operations tied to a specific operator also depend on that operator still being with you. If Jae is lost while permadeath is enabled, their personal assignments stop appearing.

Because operations cost nothing but Intel and a few seconds of real time, Kinro Decryption is one of the cheapest ways to shore up your finances between deployments. Run it while your squad is healing, then head back to the Holotable for the mission that actually advances the cycle.
