Steal an Egg: How to Get the Divine Octophanth Fast

The Octophanth is the newest Divine unit in Steal an Egg, earning $4B/s once hatched. You do not steal it from a biome. Instead, you build it at Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory by feeding in sacrifice eggs during a specific banner window. The fastest route combines two things: farming the required eggs ahead of time, and using the guaranteed pity counter so you never rely on luck.

Quick answer: Stockpile the required sacrifice eggs from four biomes, wait for the hourly “Unstable DNA (Now)” banner at Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory, then sacrifice repeatedly. You either hit the 0.5% drop or reach 100/100 pity for a guaranteed Divine Octophanth.

What you need before the banner appears

The Unstable DNA banner only lasts one hour, so speed comes entirely from preparation. Each sacrifice consumes eggs, and the lab asks for eggs from several biomes at once. If you walk in empty-handed, you will spend the whole hour farming instead of sacrificing.

Unplaced copies of the required sacrifice eggs kept in your inventory.
Access these biomes: Cosmic, Cherry Blossom, Titan Temple, plus Angels & Demons.
Optional Robux if you plan to reroll an egg slot you cannot fill (19 Robux per reroll).
Free incubation pads in your pen to hatch the Laboratory Eggs afterward.

Keep the eggs unplaced. The lab draws from stored eggs in your inventory, not from eggs already sitting on incubation pads.

Sacrifice eggs to stockpile by biome

These are the eggs the lab has been seen requesting so far; other eggs from these biomes may also appear. Farm and bank extras of each so you can fill the requested slots without leaving the machine. Steal them from guarded nests, escape the beasts, and carry them back to base before hatching anything.

Wait for the Unstable DNA banner

Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory rotates three banners, and the Octophanth only drops while the machine reads “Unstable DNA (Now)”. This banner changes every hour, which is faster than the three-hour rotations from earlier updates. Its appearance is not guaranteed each cycle.

Do not sacrifice while Biohazard Pets or Experimental Pets is active. The Octophanth is tied to the Unstable DNA pool only, so sacrificing under Biohazard Pets or Experimental Pets cannot produce it. Save your stockpile for Unstable DNA.

Sacrifice eggs at Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory

Head into the safe zone and walk up to the Dr. Scramble’s Laboratory machine. Interact with it to open the menu. Note that items cannot be used inside the safe zone, so bring your stored eggs, not active tools.

Click “Add” on each of the three requested egg slots and pick the matching egg from your inventory. If you are missing one, you can spend 19 Robux to reroll that slot for a different requirement.

Press “SACRIFICE” to feed the eggs into the machine. Each completed sacrifice adds one point to the pity counter and gives you a chance at the Divine drop.

Repeat the sacrifice using your stockpiled eggs. Chaining sacrifices back-to-back is what lets you climb the pity counter fast before the one-hour window closes.

Drop odds, pity, and rerolls

Every sacrifice rolls against the Unstable DNA table. The Octophanth sits at the top with a 0.5% chance, so most rolls will hand you lower-value units instead. The safety net is the pity counter, which guarantees the Divine unit at 100/100 regardless of luck.

If you get lucky, the Divine can drop long before you reach 100. If you do not, keep sacrificing until the counter fills. The reroll button (19 Robux) only swaps a requested egg you cannot supply. It does not increase your odds, so you can skip it entirely by farming the full egg pool in advance.

Hatch the Laboratory Eggs and confirm the Octophanth

Each sacrifice hands you a Laboratory Egg, shown by the “A laboratory egg joins your eggs!” notification. These eggs hold whatever the machine rolled, including your Divine unit if it dropped.

Place the Laboratory Eggs onto incubation pads inside your pen. They carry a short 1-minute timer.

Wait for the timer to finish, then hatch. You will see the results directly, such as a Cosmic Silver Spiderpig ($31M/s) or a Secret Sharkodile ($319M/s).

You will know the process worked when the “DIVINE OCTOPANTH!” unit appears from a hatched Laboratory Egg, listed at $4B/s. Once it is placed, it begins generating income immediately, making it one of the strongest earners you can add to a base.
