How to Get the Prehistoric Car in Storage Hunters Open World

Complete the Steady Hands, Fossil Hunter, and Big Find quests, then win the car from Jurassic Stable Garage auctions.

Complete the Steady Hands, Fossil Hunter, and Big Find quests, then win the car from Jurassic Stable Garage auctions.

The Prehistoric Car is a limited, event-exclusive vehicle in Storage Hunters: Open World. It carries a LEGENDARY rarity and a [Limited] tag, and it never appears in the normal vehicle shop. You earn it by finishing the Jurassic event questline and then winning the car itself from the event auctions.

Quick answer: Talk to the Jurassic event NPC (Annie) to start the questline, repair three broken prehistoric items, collect 12 limited event items, then run Jurassic Stable Garage auctions until the Prehistoric Car appears as a lot and win it.

Requirements before you start

The car is gated behind money, net worth, and event progress. Have your cash and net worth ready before you begin so the auction hunt is not slowed down by grinding mid-quest.

RequirementValue
Money to start the quest$15,000
Net Worth to enter Jurassic Stable Garage$10,000
Auction entry fee$15.00 per run
Repair objective3 broken prehistoric items
Collection objective12 limited event items
Final stepWin the Prehistoric Car at a Jurassic auction

Note: The Jurassic Barn Garage sits nearby with a higher gate of $25.00 entry and $50,000 Net Worth. You do not need it to unlock the car, but it is another place event lots can appear.

Where the Jurassic event is

The Jurassic area sits right next to the Farmyard Auctions, on the old farm plot. You will spot a giant meteor crashed into the ground, with the auction garages directly opposite it. Look for the “JURASSIC” signage and a wooden stall reading PREHISTORIC CAR.

Two event NPCs run this area. Annie hands out the repair-and-clean questline that ends in the Prehistoric Car, while Kyle runs a separate 10-quest collection ladder that rewards luck drinks and diamonds. Doing Kyle’s quests first is worth it, because the boosts fund every auction run you make afterward.

Step 1: Repair three broken prehistoric items (Steady Hands)

Talk to the event NPC next to the Prehistoric Car sign to open the questline. This starts the Steady Hands objective, which asks you to repair three broken Jurassic items.
Win Jurassic Stable Garage auctions and open the crates to pull prehistoric items. Only items showing a Broken tag count toward this quest. Intact collectibles do nothing here, no matter how rare they look.
The Jurrassic Items Menu in Storage Hunters
The Jurassic collection menu tracks your event progress.
Pick up each broken item and repair it with your fixing tool. The repaired item is what registers on the quest, not the one you first collected. Watch the objective tracker on the left climb to 3/3.

If the counter is not moving, the item you fixed was not flagged as broken. Skip intact collectibles and repair each broken one the moment you find it instead of stockpiling them.

Step 2: Collect 12 limited event items (Fossil Hunter)

After the repair quest, the next objective asks for 12 limited event items. This is the biggest time sink of the whole chain. There is no trick to it, only volume. Keep winning Jurassic auctions and open every box, letting the count climb as you loot normally.

Expect to run through roughly 30 to 50 auctions to gather all 12, which can take a few hours. Cheap accessories tend to show up naturally, while the rarer event pieces need more targeted grinding. Treat it as background progress rather than something you can force faster.

Step 3: Win the Prehistoric Car at auction (The Big Find)

Once the earlier objectives are done, the car does not unlock automatically. It surfaces as a lot through the Jurassic auctions, and it has a low appearance chance, so this stage comes down to patience.

Go to the Jurassic Stable Garage, pay the $15.00 entry, and start auctions on repeat. The Prehistoric Car often sits out in the open crate rather than boxed, marked with the LEGENDARY and [Limited] tags, so you will spot it immediately when it rolls. When it appears, bid and win that auction to add it to your garage.

Rather than camping the auction screen for hours, space your checks out across a session or two. The odds stay flat and you waste far less time. Keep enough money on hand so you can outbid the NPC bidders the moment the car shows.

Use Luck Drinks before each auction

Because the car is auction-based, raising your luck improves your chance of seeing rarer event lots. Activate a Luck Drink right before you start an auction so the boost is live while the lots roll. Your active luck shows on the clover icon at the bottom-left of the screen. Drinks help, but they do not guarantee the car or set a fixed appearance rate.

The car uses a wooden frame, a tattered fabric roof, and large stone rollers for wheels. Its roughly 400 KG capacity is modest, so it works better as a collector’s vehicle than as a hauling upgrade. Its real value comes from being event-exclusive.

How to confirm you unlocked it

You know the process worked when you win the Prehistoric Car lot and it lands in your garage, ready to drive with its stone-roller wheels and the [Limited] tag above it. Until you actually win it at auction, the final objective stays open no matter how many times you clear the repair and collection steps.

Most failed runs come from doing the right activity with the wrong item. The repair quest only accepts broken prehistoric items, not regular broken loot or intact prehistoric pieces. The other common mistake is expecting the car to unlock the instant the quests finish, when the real trigger is winning it from a Jurassic auction lot.

Once the car is yours, it stays in your collection permanently, even after the Jurassic event closes. The event is scheduled to end on July 25, and the collection book and its rewards shut down when the dig site does. If you want the Prehistoric Car, finish the chain and keep cycling auctions with your luck active while the event is still live.
