The Browser Company is building another AI browser, Dia

Arc Browser, while not a mainstream browser in any right, has amassed a huge niche following of its own. Now, The Browser Company of New York, the company behind Arc, has teased a new browser they're developing – Dia – set for release in early 2025.

Dia is positioned as an AI browser, that'll bring an AI environment to the browser as a whole, instead of the different, scattered features we're used to till now with different LLM models.

The website for Dia reads: "AI won't exist as an app. Or a button. We believe it'll be an entirely new environment – built

Microsoft backpedals, restricts Copilot key customization in current Windows 11 Dev channel build

Just a week after expanding customization options for the dedicated Copilot key, Microsoft has seemingly reversed course. The latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build (26120.2222) in the developer channel, released on November 8, 2024, limits Copilot key functionality to launching only "Microsoft 365" and the "Copilot" app itself. Previously, users could assign any MSIX packaged and signed app to the key.

The Copilot key customization feature was first introduced in beta builds, then made widely available on November 12th, but we just discovered that it has now been restricted to Microsoft's own apps only in the current Windows 11

Claude is now available as a desktop app on Windows and Mac

Claude is undoubtedly one of the better AIs out there. It also has some great features that other companies still need to catch up with, like Artifacts or Computer Use. But there are a few areas where Anthropic needs to play catch up. And it seems like the company has realized that and is doing just that now.

The company released an Android app for Claude a couple of months ago and recently also added support for dictation to its Android and iOS apps. Now it has also released desktop apps for Windows and Mac for Claude in beta.
