Terraria: How to Get and Use the Kinship Peach

The Crystal Ball recipe, the three Hardmode ingredients, and the exact way to feed one to a summoned Pal.

The Crystal Ball recipe, the three Hardmode ingredients, and the exact way to feed one to a summoned Pal.

The Kinship Peach arrived in Terraria with the 1.4.5.7 update, carried over from the Palworld crossover that added Pals to the game. It is not a dropped item and it is not sold by an NPC. You craft it, and the recipe sits behind a fairly deep Hardmode gate.

Quick answer: Stand next to a placed Crystal Ball with 1 Life Fruit, 12 Souls of Light, and 12 Souls of Night in your inventory, craft the Kinship Peach, then use it while a Pal is summoned to empower that Pal.

Kinship Peach recipe and crafting station

Everything about this item runs through one crafting station. The Crystal Ball is the only place the recipe shows up, and it has to be physically placed in the world — carrying it in your inventory does nothing.

RequirementDetails
StationCrystal Ball (must be placed)
Material 11x Life Fruit
Material 212x Soul of Light
Material 312x Soul of Night

The Crystal Ball comes from the Wizard. He only stocks it once your world is in Hardmode, which means beating the Wall of Flesh down in the Underworld first. Buy the ball, take it home, and drop it somewhere you can reach easily, because you will be coming back to it.

Where to farm each ingredient

All three materials are Hardmode-only, and one of them is gated a step further behind a mechanical boss. Here is where each one comes from.

MaterialHow to get it
Life FruitDefeat any one mechanical boss — The Destroyer, The Twins, or Skeletron Prime — then search the Underground Jungle, where Life Fruit grows on the jungle grass.
Soul of LightKill enemies in The Hallow, the biome that spawns when Hardmode begins. Look for the pastel blue grass and dig down through it into the underground layer.
Soul of NightKill enemies in the Underground Corruption or Underground Crimson, depending on which biome your world has.

Note: Souls of Light and Souls of Night only drop below the surface, so a shallow trip into either biome will not produce them. Dig down to the cavern layer and clear enemies there.

How to craft the Kinship Peach

Head to the Underworld and defeat the Wall of Flesh. This flips your world into Hardmode, which is what makes the Wizard stock the Crystal Ball and what causes The Hallow to appear.
Find the Wizard NPC, buy a Crystal Ball from him, and place it down in your base or anywhere convenient. You need to be standing beside it for the recipe to register.
Collect the materials — one Life Fruit from the Underground Jungle after a mechanical boss kill, twelve Souls of Light from The Hallow, and twelve Souls of Night from the Corruption or Crimson.
Stand next to the placed Crystal Ball with all three materials in your inventory and select the Kinship Peach from the crafting menu. The materials are consumed and the peach drops straight into your inventory.

If the recipe does not appear, one of two things is wrong. Either you are not close enough to the Crystal Ball, or you are short on one of the three materials — the counts are exact, and 11 souls will not do.

How to use the Kinship Peach on a Pal

Summon the Pal you want to empower. The peach targets whatever Pal is currently out on the field, so bring out the one you actually intend to invest in.
Move the Kinship Peach onto your hotbar, or keep it in your inventory where you can select it quickly.
Use the item with the Pal still summoned. The peach is consumed and the Pal on the field is empowered. If your peach count does not drop, the Pal was not summoned when you used it.

Because each peach costs a Life Fruit — an item most players would otherwise sink into permanent health upgrades — it is worth deciding which Pal you want stronger before you start crafting. Souls of Light and Night farm quickly enough with a good Hardmode weapon, but Life Fruit is the real bottleneck, and every one you spend here is one you are not putting toward your own health bar.
