The Almighty King (Yhwach) Best Build in UTDZ Update 4

Build Yhwach as a Blue Burn carry with the Ruler trait, the full Almighty relic set, and a dense team around his range.

The Almighty King is one of the more unusual damage dealers to arrive in Universal Tower Defense Z Update 4. Instead of chasing Critical Rate or Critical Damage like most top carries, Yhwach scales through Blue Burn, a damage-over-time effect that grows stronger for every allied unit standing inside his range. Getting the most out of him is less about raw placement stats and more about surrounding him with bodies.

Quick answer: Run the Ruler trait, equip the full Almighty relic set with DoT on the top and Damage on the legs, add the All-Seeing Eye accessory rolled for Elemental Damage, put all 99 stat points into Damage, and prioritize DoT then Damage on substats. Place him at a central bend and cluster your carries and summons inside his range.

How The Almighty King scales through Blue Burn

Yhwach is a Ground/Utility unit whose real output comes from his Reishi Manipulation passive. On every attack, he applies Blue Burn worth 20% of his damage for each unit inside his range, and that burn lasts five ticks. His displayed direct damage tells only part of the story, because the number of allies packed into his circle multiplies how hard those burns hit.

At maximum level, he unlocks his active, The Almighty, which lets you choose between two forms on a 30-second cooldown. Self Buff hands him a new passive and pushes any stun or debuff on him onto allies in range. Other Buff reverses that flow and pulls stuns and debuffs from nearby allies onto Yhwach instead. Self Buff is the stronger default because it strengthens the exact part of his kit that makes him special, while also granting Stun Immunity through his All-Seeing Eye passive.

Note: Blue Burn still damages enemies with Hyper Armor, though at reduced effectiveness. That gives him a niche against foes that normally shut down damage-over-time strategies, but it does not fully cancel the penalty.

Best trait for The Almighty King

Ruler is the clear pick. Its large Damage increase feeds both his attacks and the Blue Burn calculated from them, and the extra range gives you more room to fit allies inside his passive. Since the build revolves around a single, heavily invested Yhwach, Ruler’s one-placement restriction rarely costs you anything.

TraitWhen to use it
RulerDefault choice for almost every stage; boosts damage and range for the burn.
EternalLong Infinite runs where there are enough waves to build its bonuses.
SacredConsistent, general-purpose alternative.
DuelistBoss-focused content, but weaker here since his strength is scaling DoT, not burst.

Best relics and stat distribution

Run the complete Almighty relic set. DoT is the most valuable modifier because Blue Burn makes up a large share of his true output, and Damage strengthens both the initial hit and the value the burn is derived from. For the accessory, the All-Seeing Eye rolled for Elemental Damage completes the offensive setup and complements his elemental damage. S.H. Spirit is the main fallback if your All-Seeing Eye has poor rolls.

For main stats, put all 99 points into Damage. Cooldown does not improve his regular attack frequency, and range becomes unnecessary once you have decent relic rolls and a good placement. On substats, prioritize DoT, then Damage. Unlike Moonless Transcendent and most other top carries, Yhwach gains little from Critical Rate or Critical Damage, and investing there only dilutes the Blue Burn that makes him worth fielding.

Best team for The Almighty King

Because his damage rises with every unit in range, a good team is one that naturally clusters bodies around him. Summons and clones count, which makes certain support units far more valuable than their raw damage suggests.

1Gremmy
2The Almighty King
3Goku Black
4Luffy
5Bulma
6Ricardo

Gremmy / Visionary is the linchpin. His clones register as extra allied units for Reishi Manipulation, so each one raises every Blue Burn application on top of dealing its own damage. Keep the clones inside Yhwach’s circle whenever the map allows. Goku Black and Luffy add strong independent damage while filling out the formation, and Bulma thrives because the team already stacks units tightly together.

Ricardo is usually better than adding a second dedicated farm, since removing a combat unit lowers both team DPS and Yhwach’s burn multiplier. Speedwagon, Iron Man, or Nami can swap in when a stage demands more economy, but expect a noticeable drop in damage.

Placement and how to use The Almighty

Place Yhwach around a large bend or a central intersection rather than near the entrance. You need enough usable space inside his range for carries, farms, Gremmy’s clones, and other placements, and a high-traffic position keeps enemies exposed to repeated Blue Burn ticks.
Build the formation inward, packing as many allied units as possible into his circle. Every empty slot inside his range weakens each Blue Burn application, so density matters more than his solo stats.
Activate The Almighty and pick Self Buff to maximize his personal damage. This grants his new passive and shifts stuns and debuffs off him onto allies, and the accompanying Stun Immunity keeps him reliable on stages that frequently interrupt other carries.
Use Other Buff only when you need to protect a key teammate. It pulls stuns and debuffs from nearby allies onto Yhwach, which can shield important damage dealers from crowd control. Do not build a boss strategy around its boss-damage component until that interaction behaves consistently.

The most common mistake is leaving Yhwach alone or at the edge of the formation. Judge every upgrade and placement by how much it improves the whole cluster, not Yhwach in isolation, and he will settle in as one of the standout units of Update 4. Once you pull him, prioritize evolving him, match him with the relics and supports above, and he becomes one of the strongest pieces of your lineup.
