Ambrus’s Collectors: Unsavory Solutions is one of three leech collection camps in the marshland Ambrus controls in Vale Sangora. It plays out like the other two — a small island camp, a handful of soldiers, and barrels of harvested leeches — but it is also the one most players finish last, which is exactly when the questline’s miniboss shows up.

Quick answer: Travel to the swamp camp between the Briar Sloughs South and Southern Swampside shrines, kill the guards and the wolf pack that follows, then interact with the leech barrels to smash them. That completes the activity for 250 XP, one skill point, and Blood Leeches, and it costs 3 time segments.

Unsavory Solutions camp location

The camp sits on a patch of dry ground in the middle of the swamp, directly south of the Briar Sloughs South shrine and north of the Southern Swampside shrine. Fast travelling to either shrine and running toward the other puts you on top of it.

Like every Court Activity, it will not appear on your map on its own. Until you walk close enough to discover it, the marker reads as an unknown activity, so you may need to approach the area before the quest name resolves.

Clearing the camp: Guards, then wolves

Walk into the camp to trigger the first objective, “Defeat the camp guards.” There are roughly four of Ambrus’s soldiers stationed here, and they aggro as a group rather than one at a time.

Deal with the shield-carrying soldiers deliberately. They block frontal swings, so circle to their flank or break their guard before committing to a combo. The fight is manageable at either day or night, so there is no reason to burn time waiting for a specific phase.

Once the last guard drops, the objective switches to “Destroy the leech barrels.” Do not head straight for them yet — a pack of wolves runs into the camp and attacks while you are still standing in the middle of it.

Kill the wolves, then loot the bodies and search the camp before touching anything else. Everything up to this point is free — no time is spent, and nothing is locked in.

Destroying the leech barrels and the 3 time segment cost

The barrels are marked in yellow near the centre of the camp. Interacting with them spends 3 time segments, and that cost applies whether you smash them or back down.

Some collectors may appear at this point and plead with you to leave their haul alone — they want to sell the leeches they gathered and are not interested in the longer-term argument about starving the vrakhir. Giving in pays out exactly the same reward as destroying the barrels, so the choice is narrative rather than mechanical.

Note: There is one hard exception. If you spare the barrels at all three leech camps, the last camp you visit will not register as complete. Time still passes, but the reward and the Ambrus anger progress do not land. Destroy the barrels at a minimum of one camp to avoid that dead end.

The Bloodletter boss fight

The Bloodletter spawns after you resolve the barrels at the last of the three leech camps, provided you destroyed barrels at least once along the way. If Unsavory Solutions is the third camp you finish, he appears here, right after the cutscene of the barrels breaking.

He is a large dual-wielding fighter and a clear jump in difficulty from the camp guards. His unblockable attacks carry an area of effect that reaches further than it looks, so when one telegraphs, dodge twice in the same direction rather than sidestepping once and swinging back in.

Loot his body once he falls. The drop is the real reason to run this questline through to the end, and skipping the fight leaves the bulk of the payout on the table.

Rewards and how to confirm the quest completed

Every leech camp pays the same base reward. Only the Blood Leeches quantity scales, and it scales by how many of the three you have finished rather than by which one you are standing in.

Leech campTime costReward
Bounty of the Mire3250 XP, 1 skill point, Blood Leeches
Wetland Helpers3250 XP, 1 skill point, Blood Leeches
Unsavory Solutions3250 XP, 1 skill point, Blood Leeches

Blood Leeches come in at 5x for the first camp you complete, 12x for the second, and 18x when you make the barrel decision at the third.

The Bloodletter’s body carries a much larger haul, including a note titled New Orders from Ambrus.

You will know it worked when the clock advances by three segments — a night run typically rolls over to Moonrise — and the quest entry stamps as QUEST ENDED with the XP and skill point applied. If the timer moves but no reward appears, you spared the barrels at every camp, and this one did not close out.

How this feeds Ambrus’s anger level

Leech spittle keeps blood from clotting, which is what makes the harvest worth guarding — it extends the shelf life of what the vrakhir drink. Shutting the operation down is one of the Court Activities in Ambrus’s territory, and each one you complete pushes his anger meter up in the Court tab.

Fill that meter and you unlock the side quest that forces a confrontation with him. You do not need to clear every activity in his region to get there, so treat this camp as one of the cheaper ways to move that bar while pocketing a skill point on the way out.
