Wetland Helpers is one of three Leech Collectors activities in Ambrus’s court, and it runs on the same short loop as the rest of them. You travel to a wetland camp in the Briar Sloughs, kill everyone guarding it, then destroy the leech barrels stacked inside. It takes three time segments off your 30-day clock and pushes Ambrus’s anger level up a notch.
Quick answer: Defeat every camp guard in the Briar Sloughs camp, then interact with all five leech barrels to destroy them. The quest completes the moment the counter hits 5/5, paying out experience, a skill point, and Blood Leeches.
Before you go: Requirements and cost
Court Activities open up once the Prologue is behind you, and Ambrus’s set is the low-level group, available from Level 1. Nothing gates Wetland Helpers behind another quest, but there is a catch that trips up a lot of players. Court Activities do not appear on your map on their own. They sit there as “Unknown Activity” until you physically find them in the world, so you need to have already discovered this camp in the Briar Sloughs before you can fast travel to it and track the objective.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Court | Ambrus (Level 1+) |
| Activity group | Leech Collectors |
| Region | Briar Sloughs |
| Objectives | Defeat the camp guards, then destroy 5 leech barrels |
| Time cost | 3 time segments |
| Rewards | XP, skill point, Blood Leeches |
Note: every Court Activity advances the in-game clock, and you only have 30 in-game days to take down all three vampire bosses and reach Brencis. Save manually before big fights so you can reload and mop up optional content later.

How to confirm the quest completed
Destroying the fifth barrel ends the activity immediately. You get a completion notification along with the reward payout — experience, a skill point, and a stack of Blood Leeches — and Wetland Helpers drops off your active tracker. Ambrus’s anger meter ticks up as well, which is the number that actually matters for unlocking his boss fight.
If the quest is still sitting there unfinished, the reason is almost always one of two things. Either a guard is still alive somewhere on the edge of the camp, which keeps the barrel objective locked, or you have destroyed fewer than five barrels and one is tucked behind a tent or a stack of crates. Re-track the quest and follow the remaining markers.

Where Wetland Helpers fits in Ambrus’s court
Ambrus’s court has 14 Court Activity locations in total, split across Blood Cellars, Blood Transports, Draining Dungeons, Prisoner Transports, the Prisoner Processing Camp, and the Leech Collectors group. Wetland Helpers is the middle of the three Leech Collectors jobs, sitting between Bounty of the Mire and Unsavoury Solutions. All three follow the identical pattern, so once you have done one you know exactly what the other two ask for.
| Leech Collectors activity | Objective |
|---|---|
| Bounty of the Mire | Defeat the enemies, destroy the leech barrels |
| Wetland Helpers | Defeat the enemies, destroy the leech barrels |
| Unsavoury Solutions | Defeat the enemies, destroy the leech barrels |
You do not have to clear all 14 to draw Ambrus out. Roughly three quarters of a court’s activities is enough to max the anger level and unlock the quest that leads into the boss fight, and the activities stay available afterwards if you want to come back for the leftovers. Given how cheap and repeatable the Leech Collectors jobs are, they are a reasonable place to spend time segments early on while Coen is still low level.
