The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Claim the Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor Set

The Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor Set is the preorder bonus for The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it does not appear in your inventory the second you boot the game. Rebel Wolves gates it behind the entire prologue chapter, which ends in the village of Laslea. Until you finish that chapter, no amount of menu-checking will surface the armor.

Quick answer: Finish the prologue mission “Smoke and Ashes” by helping Anca clear the rubble blocking the village gate in Laslea. The three armor pieces drop straight into your inventory the moment the way is clear.

Who gets the Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor Set

The set is bundled as a preorder bonus with participating offers, including the Day 1 Edition and the Eclipse Edition. On Xbox it also exists as a separate add-on entry, The Blood of Dawnwalker – Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor Set, which requires the base game.

Bandai Namco is explicit that the armor is an early unlock rather than exclusive gear. Players without a qualifying preorder can still obtain the set later through normal progression. The advantage you are buying is timing, not permanent access.

Complete the “Smoke and Ashes” prologue to trigger the reward

The prologue is long, and every beat of it counts toward the unlock. Helping villagers during the daylight hours, attending the mass, getting trapped in the mines, and the fight that follows are all part of the same chapter. None of those individually award the armor.

Play through the prologue until your journal updates to the “Smoke and Ashes” objective. The tracker will read “Go to the village gate,” pointing you toward Laslea.
Travel to the gate and find Anca waiting by the debris. A pile of rubble is blocking the exit, and this is the final interactive object of the chapter.
Interact with the rubble to clear it alongside her. Coen pulls the blockage aside, and the prologue closes out immediately afterward.

How to confirm the armor was granted

There are three separate confirmations, and they arrive in quick succession. First, a thank-you screen appears from the development team acknowledging the preorder and stating that the Wayfarer Armor Set is waiting in your inventory. Second, the “A Dawnwalker is Born” trophy pops.

Third, three individual item notifications slide onto the screen as the pieces are added. If you saw the thank-you message but skipped past the item alerts, open your inventory and check the armor tab directly. All three pieces should be sitting there, ready to equip.

Around the same window, Coen also picks up new abilities such as Burning Blood and Astral Communion, which surface as their own on-screen prompts.

Sangoran Wayfarer armor pieces and effects

The set is three pieces, and each one leans in a different direction. The breastplate favors vampire play, the chausses feed witchcraft, and the boots push human survivability and raw weapon output.

PieceEffects
Breastplate of the Sangoran WayfarerClaw Damage; Damage against Mortals; Blood Drinking Restoration
Chausses of the Sangoran WayfarerActivation Charge Restoration from Block; Witchcraft Ability Damage; Activation Charge Restoration from Perfect Block
Boots of the Sangoran WayfarerMaximum Human Health; Damage against Supernatural Enemies; Weapon Damage

Because the pieces pull in opposite directions, mixing them with day or night gear is reasonable. The breastplate suits a Vrakhir-focused loadout, while the chausses pair better with a human, spell-leaning build.

Why you may not want to equip the set right away

Owning the armor and using it well are two different things. The chausses are medium armor, while the breastplate and boots are both heavy armor. Coen has no proficiency in either category at the end of the prologue.

You can still equip everything immediately, but wearing gear you are not proficient in applies a 30 percent stat penalty. To remove that, you need the relevant manuals and then unlock the matching perks at a shrine. Until then, the set is best treated as gear you are holding for later rather than an instant upgrade.

Note: The armor never expires or disappears if you leave it in your inventory, so there is no penalty for waiting until proficiency is sorted.

If the armor did not appear

There are only a couple of reasons the set will be missing. The most common is simply that the prologue is not finished. Reaching Laslea, seeing the gate, or fighting through the mine sequence does not count on its own, the rubble has to be cleared.

The other is entitlement. The bonus is tied to a qualifying purchase, so if you bought a version without the preorder offer, the set will not be granted at the end of the prologue. In that case the armor is still reachable through regular progression later in the game.

The same prologue completion also gates Eclipse Edition extras, which live under Extra on the title screen rather than in your inventory. The Digital World Compendium, Digital Soundtrack, and Digital Comic Book all become selectable there once the chapter is done.

For anyone still deciding what to buy, the preorder armor should not be the deciding factor. It gets the set into your hands earlier, and that is the whole of it, since the same three pieces remain obtainable through ordinary play.
