The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Get the Flask of Quicksilver

The exact tower, the quest that unlocks it, and the time segment cost for one of the four Arbiter armor components.

The exact tower, the quest that unlocks it, and the time segment cost for one of the four Arbiter armor components.

The Flask of Quicksilver is one of four crafting components you need for the Enhanced Arbiter armor set in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it sits behind a locked door that will not open on demand. There is a single known copy of it in Vale Sangora, and reaching it means finishing a specific quest inside the tower that holds it.

Quick answer: Complete the Home Sweet Home quest inside Aurelius’s Tower, southwest of The Silts, then return to the top floor and take the Flask of Quicksilver off the low table beside the large wooden table.

Flask of Quicksilver location in Vale Sangora

The flask is in the southern half of the map, at the top of the stone tower southwest of The Silts. Open your map and look for Aurelius’s Tower — it is the only marked structure in that stretch, and it is also the tower some players know by the shorthand “Silts Tower.” Fast travel to the nearest discovered point and ride in from there.

There is one interactive map location for the item, and it is on the tower’s top floor. Nothing about the approach is hidden. The gate is the quest inside.

What you need before the flask is reachable

Walking to the top floor and interacting with the door does not hand you the item. It pulls Coen into a dream sequence instead. That sequence is the Home Sweet Home quest, and the flask only becomes available once you have escaped the time loop and dealt with the astrologer.

Clearing Home Sweet Home to unlock the top floor

Enter the tower at ground level and climb the internal staircases. The interior is a straight vertical run through several floors, with no branching paths to worry about.

Keep going up until you reach the door on the highest floor and interact with it. This spends the four time segments and drops Coen into a replay of the prologue.

Fight through the enemies in the dream and beat the Gargoyle at the end. You then wake up back in the house, which is the loop restarting rather than a failure.
At the second group of enemies, switch to Focus Mode and inspect the well. That opens the cave route out, which leads you into the church.
In the church, use Focus Mode to help the priest reconstruct the night. Interact with Alin first, then Esme, then Coen. Get the order right and the locked church door opens onto another portal.
Inspect the red glowing tree stump, clawride down to the river, and finish the conversation. The astrologer is dealt with in the cutscene that follows, and Coen respawns at the bottom of the tower.

Picking up the Flask of Quicksilver

Climb the tower again from the ground floor. The stairs are the same, and this time nothing interrupts the ascent.
Walk into the ritual room at the top — the same room the dream blocked you from entering. It is a small chamber with a large wooden table in the middle.

Look at the low table or crate sitting next to the main one. The flask gives off a faint green glow and shows an “E Inspect” prompt on PC. Take it.

You will know it worked when the Flask of Quicksilver appears in your inventory as a quest item with the description “Quite a rarity.” If A Bulwark Against Darkness is already active, the “Find a flask of quicksilver” objective ticks off at the same time. You can grab the item before the quest starts, and it will still count later.

If the flask is not there

There are only two realistic reasons the pickup does not appear. The first is that Home Sweet Home is not finished — if interacting with the top-floor door throws you into the dream again, the loop has not been resolved and the room stays closed. The second is that you never reached the top floor at all and stopped short on one of the lower landings. Both are fixed by going back up and finishing the sequence properly.

Where the flask fits into the Arbiter armor set

The flask is one of four components listed in the mysterious letter that starts A Bulwark Against Darkness, which becomes available after you hit Infamy level 4. Once you have all four, you take them to Nareh, the uriash blacksmith in the northwestern hinterlands, and survive the forging ritual to receive the fully enhanced Arbiter set plus the Arbiter’s Regalia achievement.

ComponentWhere it comes from
Flask of QuicksilverTop floor of Aurelius’s Tower, after Home Sweet Home
Large Lizard MoultCave in the marshes between Briar Sloughs and Maragir Wealds
Silk ThreadsFree from the Murohn’s lair in Come Hither, or bought from the Sanzhani merchant after Pearly and Precious
Relic of a SaintAny saint’s relic you are carrying, such as the Saint’s Tibia or the Relic of St. Tobias

Because there is only one Flask of Quicksilver in Vale Sangora, it is the component worth locking down early. Everything else on that list has an alternative or a second source, so the tower run is the part of the armor hunt with no backup plan.
