The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Skip Time Using Shrines

Restore a broken shrine, then use its menu to advance the day-night clock when a quest demands it.

Time is the resource you fight against in The Blood of Dawnwalker. A 30-day clock runs from the moment Coen’s family is taken, and certain quests only open at specific points in the day or night. When you need to move the clock forward on purpose, the game hands you one deliberate tool for it, and it isn’t a menu button or a bedroll.

Quick answer: Walk up to a restored shrine, press the interact prompt, and choose the skip-time option in the menu that appears. You can only do this at shrines you have already repaired.

Skip time at a restored shrine

Shrines are spread evenly across the map and double as fast-travel points. A restored shrine is the only place you can push the clock forward, and the same menu also lets you fast-travel and spend Skill Points.

Approach a shrine you have already restored. When you are close enough, an interact prompt appears on screen.
Press the prompted button to open the shrine menu. Alongside fast travel and Skill Point spending, you will see the option to skip time.
Select skip time and confirm. The day-night cycle advances, which lets you reach a quest that was gated behind a later hour.

You know it worked when the lighting shifts and the clock moves forward. If the skip option is missing, the shrine has not been restored yet.

Restore a broken shrine first

Most shrines you find start out broken, and a broken shrine gives you no time options. Each damaged shrine is missing its heart, and finding that heart is what brings the shrine back to life.

Walk up to any broken shrine on the map. You will notice it is missing its heart, which is the piece you need to recover.
Enter Focus Mode and scan the ground around the shrine. Look for footprints leading away from it.
Follow the footprints. They lead to a group of enemies, which may be wild animals or ordinary humans.
Defeat the enemies and search the spot they were guarding. The heart is hidden there.
Carry the heart back to the shrine and interact with it. A prompt to restore the shrine appears, and once you confirm it, the shrine is fully active for fast travel, Skill Points, and skipping time.

What skipping time costs you

Time works as a currency rather than a live clock, so advancing it is a real trade. A single day-night cycle holds 8 points of time, and different actions charge you different amounts. Keep this in mind before you skip, since the world reacts to how many days pass.

ActionTime cost
Learning or upgrading a skill at a shrine1 time segment (plus experience)
Most quests and objectives1 slot, some 2–3 slots
Disrupting Brencis’ operations3 slots

Note: Passing time can make some encounters disappear while opening up entirely new ones, so weigh a skip against anything you still want to reach. Missing the 30-day deadline does not trigger a game over. The story simply adapts and steers you toward a different ending, which is worth remembering before you burn through days at a shrine.
