The Way of the Leek is a short Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet. It takes place on Crownleek Terrace, the leek fields beside Greenshade Village in Qingzhou’s Eastern Peak area. Inkbound Order disciple Zhu Ling has lost a farming manual that she thinks will help her grow a prize-winning Crown Leek. You find a copy, bring it back to her, and the tale is done in a few minutes.
Quick answer: Talk to Zhu Ling in the leek terraces, pick up a leek manual from one of the nearby sheds, then return and use Give to hand it to her.
Where to find Zhu Ling on Crownleek Terrace
Greenshade Village sits east of Mount Tai in Qingzhou. Crownleek Terrace is the grid of square crop plots just south of the village, and those plots are easy to spot on the map. The quickest way in is to fast travel to Sageplow Stead, which is right next to the fields. From there, walk into the leek rows.
Zhu Ling wears white robes and paces between the leeks on the northern side of the terraces. The Crownleek Contest pin on the Greenshade Village map is a useful landmark, because the manual sheds and the contest grounds are all close by.

The order is flexible. If you pick up a manual before you speak to Zhu Ling, the clue still counts, and the tale moves forward once you talk to her.

You can also take the Meow Meow Six Arts – Rites exam at the same table. Question 5 asks what the Records of the Grand Historian means when it says some deaths are weightier than Mount Tai and others are lighter than a feather. The correct answer is D. That the value of death is not the same, which earns a 100/100 score. Claiming the exam rewards also gives you the Super Leek Manual. It counts as one of the six puzzles for the Qingzhou: Paws on Point achievement.

Step 3 (optional): Go over the terraces to the little wooden hut southwest and west of Zhu Ling. Leeks dangle beneath its roof. Pick up the Supper Leek Manual on the table. This version advises bowing to crops, putting up talismans, and using the lute to direct Qi.

Super Leek Manual or Supper Leek Manual: which to give
Either manual completes the tale. The rewards are the same, so the choice only changes Zhu Ling’s final lines.
| Manual | Location | Ending |
|---|---|---|
| Super Leek Manual | Planting shed east of Zhu Ling (Meow Meow table) | It proves to be a bootleg version of her own notes. |
| Supper Leek Manual | Small shed west/southwest of Zhu Ling | Full of occult farming nonsense |
The Super Leek Manual’s ending is the more satisfying of the two. The pages are muddy and water-stained, and Zhu Ling realizes the “master’s secrets” are her own field notes, sold back to her. She decides there are no shortcuts and that tending her crops is the way to grow the Crown Leek. If you hand over the Supper Leek Manual instead, your character tells her that real skill matters more than rituals.
