Florens and orens pile up quickly as Geralt loots corpses, chests, and caches across the Continent, yet neither coin spends at a merchant or shows up in your usable balance. They are separate currencies from crowns, so they only become money once a banker swaps them for you. Until then they sit inert in your inventory as ordinary items.
Quick answer: Take florens and orens to the Vivaldi Bank in Novigrad and exchange them for crowns. Orens convert at 1:1 and florens at 1:3, and the swap is free.

Crowns are the only currency that works everywhere in the game, so the value of your other coins comes entirely from their exchange rate. Florens are the one worth chasing, since a single floren returns three crowns.

Two banks handle the trade, and both do it at no cost:
- Vivaldi Bank in Novigrad, run by Vimme Vivaldi, is available throughout the main game.
- Cianfanelli Bank is in Beauclair’s Gran’place and was introduced in the Blood and Wine expansion.
Near Hierarch Square, Vivaldi Bank is easy to reach: fast travel to its signpost, then go west. The banker is at a plaza corner, close to Triss Merigold’s house.

The florens and orens are removed from your inventory permanently once traded, but there is no reason to hold onto them, since they serve no other purpose.

You will know the trade went through when the florens and orens disappear from the “other” category of your inventory and your crown total rises by the matching amount.
