The Moose arrived in the Deep North with the Valheim 1.0 update, and it is one of the few creatures in that frozen biome you can tame and ride. It moves quickly through deep snow, fights hostile creatures alongside you, and works like a faster version of the Lox. Taming a Moose takes a while, so expect to feed it across a long unbothered stretch. When it finishes, the animal drops its hostile behavior and becomes your pet. A Brew of Animal Whispers cuts the taming time in half if you want to speed things up.
If the hearts stop appearing, one of a few things is usually wrong. The Moose is frightened because you are visible or standing too close, another creature is agitating it through the fence, or it cannot reach the berries you dropped. Clearing those problems restarts the progress.
How to mount the Moose with a Moose Saddle
A tamed Moose cannot be ridden until you craft and attach a Moose Saddle. You build the saddle at a Level 2 Artisan Table using the recipe below.
