Life Serum, Life Potion, and Healing Potion are the three consumables you drink through almost every fight in AION 2, and keeping a deep stack costs very little once you know every supply line. You can buy them outright, pull them from quests and chests for free, or brew them yourself from the first minute of Alchemy.
Quick answer: Buy Life Potion, Life Serum, and Healing Potion from any General Goods Merchant (open the General Shop tab, Potion category). Craft Life Serum at Alchemy mastery 1, and collect Superior versions from quests, achievements, and the Daeva Pass.
Buy recovery potions from the General Goods Merchant
The General Goods Merchant offers all three recovery consumables starting at level 1, letting you top up after battles without making them yourself. Look for the coin-sack symbol overhead; the zone map identifies this vendor with a shop marker, and its chatter includes a “nyerk”.

One sits at Dawn Legion Base, with more spread across the outposts you pass while questing. You will also find a merchant in each early region: three across Verteron, three across Altgard, one in Poeta for Elyos, and one in Ishalgen for Asmodians.
- Dawn Legion Base
- Valley Outpost
- Western and Eastern Cantas Valley
- Coastal Camp
- Marsh Outpost

To check that the purchase went through, look in your inventory for the potions and their stack count. Place the ones you use most in the Consumables Quickslot for one-tap activation in combat. You can also enable Auto-Use to have the game use a potion when your HP reaches a threshold.
You can also get Life Serum (Bound) in the main-menu Shop for 1,000 Kina, letting you replenish your stock without making a trip to a vendor.

Each item is Common grade and available from level 1. Life Serum restores HP immediately, while Life Potion restores an equal amount over 10 seconds. Healing Potion removes a status effect and does not restore health.
| Item | Price (Kina) | Cooldown | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| 250 | 30s | 1,500 HP + 5% Max HP over 10s | |
| 1,000 | 30s | 1,500 HP + 5% Max HP instantly | |
| 450 | 10s | Removes 1 status effect (not Incapacitated) |
The Bound versions cannot be traded or sold to other players, but they stack high and are cheap to top up. Their vendor sell-back value is tiny, around 10 Kina for a Life Serum, so there is no reason to hoard them as a cash source.
Free potions and Kina from quests, chests, and the Daeva Pass
Early AION 2 hands you so many potions and so much Kina that you rarely need to spend at a vendor before mid-game. Life Serum arrives in stacks as campaign rewards, and several achievements pay out Kina that covers dozens of extra potions.
Elyos get 20 Life Serum (Bound) for Making Yourself Useful in Poeta at level 2; Asmodians gain the same quantity from Prepare to Escape in Ishalgen at level 2. At level 10, Dawn Legion in Verteron starts automatically as you regain consciousness inside the Recovery Room. Complete the quest with Hart at Dawn Legion Base for 4,500 Kina, 20 Life Serum, 10 Healing Potion, and 20 Return Scroll. Since no quest earlier in this stretch grants Healing Potions, you can wait to buy that stack.
Activating the Kibelisk at Dawn Legion Base, Valley Outpost, and Marsh Outpost each awards 2,000 Kina for Elyos, and reaching level 10 gives 500 Kina to both factions. For reference, every 2,000 Kina buys 2 Life Serums or 8 Life Potions.
Reward boxes are another potion source. Life Potion (Bound) is available from Daeva’s Campaign Supply Chest, the Advance: Wishlist Chest, and the Pre-registration: Supply Chest; the pre-registration chest contains 30 Life Potions. Daeva’s Campaign Supply Chest also provides Life Serum.
The Daeva Pass – Dawn Legion carries potions and serums on both its free and premium tracks, and daily attendance logins add Life Crystals on top.

Life Crystal: a second healing cooldown
Life Crystal (Bound) instantly restores 1,500 HP plus 10% of Max HP on a 30-second cooldown that runs separately from your normal potions. Because its timer is independent, you can drink a Life Serum and a Life Crystal back to back in an emergency instead of waiting on a shared cooldown.

It becomes usable at level 10 and comes from a wide spread of sources: regional quests, achievement rewards, daily attendance, the Daeva Pass, reward boxes, and the Shop. The unbound Life Crystal can also be gathered in the overworld and pulled from Hidden Cubes.
Superior potions and where they come from
At level 10, the Superior tiers restore roughly twice the percentage, but you’ll need other sources since the General Goods Merchant doesn’t carry them. Superior Life Serum instantly restores 3,000 HP plus 10% of Max HP, with a 30-second cooldown.
| Item | Req. level | Effect | Where to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 3,000 HP + 10% Max HP instantly | Quest reward, achievement | |
| 10 | HP + 10% Max HP over 10s | Battle pass | |
| 10 | Removes 2 status effects | Crafting (Alchemy) |
Superior Life Serum shows an episode quest and a run of Challenge boss achievements on its source panel. Each listed field-boss defeat milestone hands over a batch of the serum.

Those Challenge boss achievements track defeats of named field bosses, and the ones that grant high-tier potions include Kemon of the West, Neikel of the East, Rotten Kutar, Blooming Korin, Bodyguard Tergant, Kuson the Mad Gladiator, Ritualist Garshim, Bloodfang Pryn, Furious Saurious, Scholar Aulla, Chaser Tauto, Forest Warrior Autlarnu, Heretic Layla, Black Tentacle Lawa, and Centurion Demiros.

Craft Life Serum and Superior potions with Alchemy
Buying saves time, but Life Serum (Bound) is among the few items craftable from the beginning of Alchemy, and it costs less to craft than any other item in the profession. Crafting tables in Verteron and Altgard list the recipe; Alchemy mastery 1 is the sole requirement.

Once you reach the higher recipes, you fold base potions into the Superior versions. The exact inputs are listed below.
| Craft | Mastery | Materials (Elyos) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fresh Aria x1, Glass Bottle (Bound) x1 | |
| — | Life Potion (Bound) x1, Aria x1, Professional Glass Bottle (Bound) x1 | |
| 55 | Life Serum (Bound) x1, Fresh Aria x1, Professional Glass Bottle (Bound) x1 |
Asmodian recipes swap the herb line: Fresh Azpha replaces Fresh Aria, and Azpha replaces Aria. Alchemy also lets you craft Wind Serum for flight power, Mana Potion for MP, and Superior Healing Potion for clearing two status effects, so the profession covers every recovery need in one place.
Between the free quest stacks, Kina-paying achievements, and a mastery-1 craft that doubles on a combo, you should never run dry. Keep a Life Serum or Life Potion and a Life Crystal in your Quickslot, add a Healing Potion for status-heavy fights, and let the campaign rewards cover the rest until you unlock the Superior tiers.
