Raw Leather is a Common crafting material that feeds the Armorsmithing line in AION 2, and because you tend to need it in bulk, where you kill matters more than how rare it is. It becomes usable at character level 15, stacks up to 10,000, and drops from a long list of beasts spread across several zones.

Quick answer: The highest per-kill odds come from four level 45 named targets at 62.2% and 51.8% in Verteron and Altgard. For steady volume, grind dense mob packs in those same regions at 3.9% per kill.

Raw Leather stats and uses

Raw Leather can be traded and sold between players, so surplus never has to go to waste. Its vendor price is low, which makes the player market a better home for extras than an NPC.

NCSOFT raised the Raw Leather drop rate for monsters in Verteron, Altgard and Chaotic Lower Reshanta in the October 7 update, so current per-kill odds reflect that change.

Named targets with the highest drop chance

Four named enemies drop Raw Leather far more often than anything else. All sit at level 45, each spawns at a single point, and three of them hit 62.2% per kill.

Named targetLevelLocationChance
Furious Saursus45Verteron, Night Dew Cave62.2%
Bloodfang Pnyn45Verteron, Northern Tolbas Forest62.2%
Predator Garsan45Altgard, Moslan Forest62.2%
Blooming Korin45Verteron, Ellun River Midstream51.8%

Because each of these has a single spawn point and a longer respawn timer, they do not hold up as a constant solo loop. Treat them as bonus kills when you are already farming nearby or running the area with a group of level 45 or higher players.

Where to farm Raw Leather by region

Ordinary mobs in Verteron and Altgard drop Raw Leather at 3.9% per kill, while Chaotic Lower Reshanta rewards higher-level characters with better odds on its Abyss packs.

RegionTypical per-kill chanceStandout source
Verteron3.9%Furious Saursus, Bloodfang Pnyn (62.2%)
Altgard3.9%Predator Garsan (62.2%)
Chaotic Lower Reshanta3.5%Abyss Swarm Colony (10.9%)

The higher percentages look tempting on paper, but raw chance is only half the picture. Pack density, respawn speed and how fast you can clear each group decide your real leather-per-hour, so a dense 3.9% loop often beats chasing a scattered high-chance target.

Best Raw Leather farming spots in Altgard

Two beast routes in Altgard hold a tight loop, which keeps your kill count high. The first works the Brax packs across the open highland, where the mobs roam close together on grassy ground and go down quickly for melee characters.

The second route moves into a nearby forest to clear Withered Armadon along the dirt paths. These drop Raw Leather alongside Kinah and Armadon Soul Points, so you build Pet Genus insight on the same circuit.

Pull only what you can handle. Oversized pulls look efficient but the deaths, healing and recovery time cut your total kills over a full session.

Chaotic Lower Reshanta for higher-level characters

If your character can hold its own in the Abyss, Chaotic Lower Reshanta carries the best regular-mob odds in the global farming pool. Abyss Swarm Colony there drops Raw Leather at 10.9%, well above the open-world 3.9% rate, while the surrounding Abyss Karnif, Slink, Coradon and Swarm packs sit around 3.5%.

The draw is density. Colony and Swarm groups cluster tightly enough that an area-attack class can chain pulls with little downtime, which makes the zone a strong stockpiling option once you out-level the starter regions.

Raw Leather from Shulak Loot Bundles

Mobs aren’t your only option. Opening a Shulak Loot Bundle (Bound) can yield Raw Leather at a 14.8% rate, so bundles already in your inventory can make up a shortfall without a separate farming run.

What Raw Leather is used for

Strong Leather is the reason to stockpile Raw Leather at all. You refine it through Armorsmithing, and it then becomes a base material for armor crafting.

Armorsmithing levelInputOutput
12 Raw Leather1 Strong Leather
2520 Raw Leather10 Strong Leather

The level 25 recipe is the one to use when you are processing large amounts, since a single action turns 20 Raw Leather into 10 Strong Leather.

There is a second outlet through Supply Requests. Handing in 5 Raw Leather returns 380 Abyss Points and 100 Enhance Stones, which is a reasonable way to spend surplus once your crafting needs are covered. Keep enough set aside for any armor recipe you are working toward first, then redirect the rest into those requests.
